Trying to prep for lawn treatments, I decided to give these a try. Being afraid I’d fall and break something, I decided broom sticks would work for ski poles to balance. Didn’t need them and all went much easier than expected. I hope my lawn is saved. Fingers crossed!!

I have a 200 pound tortoise that walks my backyard grass all day, so you can imagine how compacted the soil must be. I bought these aerator shoes, put them on, and walked back and forth over the compacted grass/soil for about 30 minutes. I wore Skechers shoes and when I was done, I noticed the black straps that cross over the front and back of my ankles had worn the skin down on one of my feet causing it to be raw and sore. I learned then to wear boots. They performed great! I saw an improvement in how the water soaked into the grass/soil much easier and started to green up again. I will add that you may have to soak the ground area that you wish to aerate. It makes walking and penetrating the ground much easier.

If ground is still wet, metal shoes pop off my boots and get stuck in ground. Wet soil fills spikes. Little shovel does help easily get soil off the spikes. I guess if I had a bigger ladies shoe size the metal shoes would better fit my rubber yard boots and not pop off the boots.

I know that a core aerator would be much better, but I purchased this item as a quicker alternative. They might be trickier to use: I used them as I was using crampons to climb glaciers and they worked just fine.My suggestion: wear sturdy pants, fit them over boots (not shoes) and use a stick to improve balance. Also: prior to every use, check that the spikes are not loose. Keep the straps on the inside: its easier to fit it over the boot. The only complain is that the wrench provided is poor quality, barely enough to tight the spikes.

Make sure your lawn is very wet, makes it so much easier. Buuut, even with a very wet lawn, this does take some effort to push down and pull up, and some skill to avoid ripping a gash instead of a clean hole. If you have a very rocky lawn, you will manage to find every rock, which adds to difficulty. I can feel construction trash, bottles and cans too! :-/The product is well made, and looks like it will last for many years. My yard already looks better, after two (exhausting) sessions in the last few months. Punches a nice 2-inch hole. Great for small yards. ;-)

Les semelles arrivent déjà montées donc un gain de temps.Avec les différentes attaches, les semelles tiennent bien, aucun procblème sur ce point.Livré avec un petit ustensile pour enlever la terre après utilisation.Bon produit.

the Idea was great but my soil is very rocky, compacted. they really didn't work for most of my lawn but where it did, guess it would work okay, got way more steps to go to cover my whole area. I wouldn't recommend if for a big lawn at all.
