Pricey but good quality. Overkill for many applications that some folks think they need it for, but necessary for other use cases. You might need thicker stuff like this if:* you want to work with relatively higher frequencies, say above 145MHz. Though 440MHz is still fine so long as your cable length isn't too bad.* have a longer run of cable, say over 50 ft.* plan to use significantly higher transmit power, like if you plan to use a high power external amplifier.*** DO BEWARE OF SIMILAR SOUNDING ALTERNATIVES! If you see other "something such" 400 that is implied to be of the same class as this, understand that it may not be. Especially of considerably cheaper. You might find the shielding is less dense, or instead of high quality copper you end up with copper clad aluminum etc.

Wish I had gotten something a little more flexible. Fine for permanent installs but for packing and going it is a bit much to handle.

This is a great cable. You can't beat LMR for low loss vs cost. I've been testing all types of antennas and cable combinations to extend LTE from a remote area with a weak signal to an even more remote area using Wilson yagis with a ZTE MF279 coupled with Mikrotik SXTsq wireless bridges. Using this LMR400 instead of RG58 for the yagi-to-LTE router link caused a gain of -11 dBi. Don't scrimp on your cable if you need to squeeze out every bit of efficiency.

Excellent quality cable and connectors. I used this for an ADS-B antenna and performance is right where it should be for the cable length. The connectors are solidly installed and the shrink tubing over the connectors and cable ends provide a solid physical connection. Still, one should also anchor the cable and not let it hang to prevent any possible separation. Very happy with this purchase and I plan to replace some RG-8 cables with this since the performance will be better at UHF frequencies with the LMR400.

High quality cable at a good price. Actual Times Microwave LMR-400 not another brand or a knockoff cable, which some people like to sell. 10/10 seller
