I use these turnbuckles for the guy wire supports for my 17' tall Christmas Megatree. The cables are attached to the top and to these which are secured to the anchors. By tightening and loosening them, I can adjust the plumb of the center pole. They also turn smoothly, no binding of the threads. They won't rust in the weather because they are stainless steel. The eyes are welded shut and the end of the hook is slightly pointed.Minimum length: 5.75"Max length of 8.125" for full engagement of the threads on each side and 8.625" with only three threads engaged on each side (not recommended).The cross section of the hook and eye are 0.1875" in diameter. So subtract that from the measurements above to determine working length.

These are a nice large size, perfect for adding tension to shade sails. They are well-machines and torn smoothly and easily. You get quite a few in this pack, which is handy if you have several shade sails that need less slack or if you need to use them otherwise in the yard or shop, like to slowly get a youngish tree to bend a different direction. Very good value.

Just built a 2400 watt solar panel rack and used these with earth anchors to make sure the system stays where I want it. Already had some serious winds and all is good.
