It fits my Platinum carbon ink pen. I don't know why the other converter failed. Not a bad price point. Do recommend

Love this. Seals solidly, draws up the ink great in my Preppy pen. Had trouble at first, ink seemed to run out, but there was plenty in there. Probably ink was having trouble flowing at first because of long time non-use and dried up ink. A good soaking seemed to fix it.

Although it is costly but fits the pen very well. one time purchase. If cartridges were easily available for the pen, i would not have gone for converter at all.

Product arrived 2 weeks earlier than it was expected.Super recommended. The thing is that I haven't still tested it with the fountain pen, whether it functions alright, because the Century #3776 I ordered on the same day from another seller has not yet arrived. So I cannot technically say that this is the best Converter, but the service from the seller and the process after I made this order went incredibly fast and smooth. Therefore I leave 5 star.

I thought about docking a star because it's proprietary, and I dislike proprietary converters, but that's an issue with the Platinum pen company, not the converter itself. For the premium you pay for this proprietary converter, you get a very durable, solid-feeling, well-made product. It feels like some kind of dense acrylic, and the fit into the pens is great--although it's simple friction-fit it has a soft "suction" to it that makes it feel very secure and well-seated. It seems silly to call a plastic converter "luxury", but it's definitely a step above any other converter I've used.Just an FYI for people new to fountain pens--this converter can be used ONLY in Platinum brand pens. I notice that a lot of people seem to make this mistake with the proprietary brand converters.

Although I personally find that refills are far more convenient for daily use this converter is a must have if you want to use bottled inks. As far as converters go this is perhaps one of the best constructed converters I've ever used. It hasn't ever clogged, leaked, or dried out but it may be due to using it with a Platinum Plaisir with Slip & Seal cap that prevents drying out and leaking. It's a little over-priced for what it is (almost as much as a new Platinum Plaisir pen after shipping) but it does what it is supposed to do and does it well.Note: As this is a Japanese manufactured product the instructions are in Kanji and Katakana. There are no English instructions. However, let's be honest it is a converter. Once you've used one converter you've used them all. It's not rocket science to figure out how to use it.

I don't write reviews until I have used the product for a while. I was thrilled with this pen right out of the box. Beautiful to look at, comfortable to hold, and a nice wet writer. But after a few weeks and some heavy use ... it only gets better! Mine became wetter and smoother. I even put some Diamine shimmering ink in it. That ink plugged up some of my wettest pens, but the Platinum just worked, and beautifully. My only quibble would be the casting seams on the grip section. They look a little cheap, but are hard to notice. For the price of this pen, and it's fabulous qualities, I can tolerate such a minor imperfection. Buy this pen.

If using a fountain pen and wanting to try or use inks not available in cartridges for your pen you'll want a converter like this. If you just want to save money on ink for your fountain pen and you use the pen a lot then you'll want a converter. This converter works well for platinum and some other fountain pens. Check the web to find which converter will work with your pen and get one. Admittedly cartridges are quicker to change (with less effort and mess) than using a converter and ink from a bottle, but I'm willing to trade that convenience for being able to choose any fountain pen ink that I want. Beside, the tinkerer in me enjoyed learning more about pens and the possibilities for tweaking them that followed from the first step of using converters.

These are so cool. I bought several to use in my Preppy pens, and they are easy to use and work great. Very little mess when filling. Haven't had any problems with leakage. If I don't use my pens for a few days, a simple touch to anything wet and it quickly starts the flow again (wouldn't recommend going TOO long, or the ink might dry out, so I've read).I like that you can use any fountain pen ink, of any color when using these. I have several Preppy pens, different colors, even mixing some custom color. Easy to do when you have these converters. True, they don't come with instructions (unless you can read Japanese, which I can't). But it was easy-peasy to figure out. Just twist the end till all the way closed; dip into chosen ink; untwist; and voila! All filled. Have a paper towel ready to wipe off the end dipped into the ink and you're good to go.
