I hate ink cartridges as they're wasteful and add more plastic to the world. This thing allows me to fill the pen with bottled ink. Sure, it's a tad messy, as you have to clean the tip of the pen, but it's not hard.I like it a lot.

Easy to use and makes it nice that I can add my own inks to a pen that I love as one of my favorite writing tools.

The delivery was quicker than the given estimated time. The ink converters really come in handy if one has a collection of ink bottles, as they are safer to use than syringes. I got them for my Lamy Joy and Lamy Safari fountain pens, but one can also use them for Lamy AL-Star and Lamy Vista fountain pens.

I bought this converter for use with shin-kai iroshizuku Pilot Ink. The converter fits well into my Lamy Safari, and does a great overall job providing a consistent flow to the nib.The basic premise is simple: stick the converter into the pen where cartridges would usually go, dip the nib and a bit of the pen body into an ink well, turn the red nob on the converter to suck up the ink. It's a great and simple concept that is very functional.Cons:- I cannot figure out how to "fully" fill the converter. There is always a small bubble of air in the container when I am done sucking up the ink.- It seems to dispense ink a little quicker than the typical Lamy cartridges. I find myself refilling it much faster than when I was using said cartridges (though, this might be because of the inability to "fully" fill the converter).Pros:- Because you screw the red nob to suck up ink, you can turn it the opposite way if the nib needs a little push of ink to get started- The converter is great to have when you are wanting to clean the pen. Simply dip it in warm water and flush the water through until clear- You can buy cheaper ink than the price of individual converters (or get fancy ink like the Shin-Kai!)

Lamy pens are great writers even though inexpensive. That said, if you want to venture into the wonderful world of inks with its vast array of colors, you need a converter. This works perfectly, is easy to use, easy to clean, snaps in securely, no problems or difficulty at all. Treat yourself! It will add the pleasure of personal ink choice to your fountain pen experience!

I recently purchased this item for my Lamy al-star extra fine fountain pen. Obviously it doesn't matter that it's an extra fine version of it, but none the less the product works wonderfully. If you've ever used a refill converter for a fountain pen, it's just the same as all the rest. The product came quickly and safely. It's a good product and should last as long as the pen does, long as I treat it right. The plastic nob seems to be a bit fragile if turned a bit too hard, but I believe I can control myself not to break it.Good for anyone looking for a refill converter for their Lamy fountain pen.

For years, I've been using the disposable lamy refills and refilling them myself with a needle syringe. The finally wore out so I needed something.I had a different refillable one years ago, but it was leaky and didn't hold much ink. This one is great! It hold alot and since you fill through the pen tip, the ink starts flowing immediately after filling.Sometimes it takes a few tries to fill the well without air bubbles, but I'm fine w that.

Some like the convenience of a cartridge rather than a bottle of ink and this converter - and that is fine for most situations. But for economy reasons the converter is a worthwhile investment. But an oft overlooked reason to use a converter is the ease of getting ink into the feed after a long term of non-use. After a week or two of non-use I find that the pen writes 'lighter' than it did previously. In these cases I turn to converter knob which causes some ink to be pushed into the feed. Do this very slow and watch for ink droplets. Its far easier with a Lamy demonstrator where you can actually see the ink filling the feed within the section. You could also squeeze the cartridge but they are rather stiff and its difficult to squeeze just the right amount.
