I put on the system, and everything was fine until I went to set the torque wench to the specks in the paperwork.... I stripped 3 bolts and had to replace them made with a harder medal. I would consider finding a harder made bolt.

Install was ok but there were some issues.Install went OK for a semi skilled 71 year old. However, I here were some issues…….#1. Grease zerk broke off when I tried to remove the grease gun.#2. Why the different size nuts? There were three (3) different sizes 11/16”, 3/4” and #17 metric. Really? All the threads were the same. It was just a pain to change sockets to tighten five nuts.

Installed the new wet bolts. When torque the nuts two of the bolts threads stripped below 30 psf. Requested help from the supplier and received no response. Next time I'll just order new bolts from MORryde.

What I disliked the most is that the nuts are not threaded to the same pitch as the bolt thread. The nuts thread very sloppy on the bolts and the metallurgy is substandard like every other product from the manufacturing country. The threads on the nuts will sheer off when tightened, and I was not over tightening the nuts. I ended up using the nuts from my original trailer shackles, which are hardened steel. Time will tell how the bronze bushings hold up, but I'm not keeping my fingers crossed. The bolts for the shackles were long enough, but the bolts for the outer leaf spring eyelets were 1/2 inch too short; couldn't get thread engagement to put nuts on.

I was very disappointed in the quality of the bolts in this lo star upgrade kit. The bolts didn’t appear to be hardened bolts and the threads were very shallow so three of them stripped while tightening with a standard wrench. One even had to be cut off because the nut would not come off of the bolt. I purchased a different brand kit and all of them worked correctly while installing them on the rv. This was very frustrating and cost a lot of extra time to replace the kit to where we almost had to cancel our upcoming camping trip.

These were a huge improvement compared to the stock Dexter ones. Mine were so worn they could have failed at any moment—I caught it just in time. Pro-tip: clean as much rust as possible out of the leaf spring eyelets & use a large C-clamp to press the (pre-greased) bushings in. Use an old nut as a spacer to protect the zerk fitting while pressing in with the C-clamp. Don’t use a powerful impact wrench to set the nuts—use a wrench and then torque.

Relatively easy to install with the right tools. I believe you are going to want an impact wrench to do this. I don’t think I could have done it with out it. It was a big improvement over the original shackles . Probably more than double the thickness of the old shackles plus don’t have plastic bushings now and can grease the new ones easily. Fit perfectly.

They are as decribed. I had to reduce the outside diameter of the bushings in order to install them in my trailer. My original setup had the nylon or plastic bushings. This could be just specific to me. However it seems to be worth the effort because now i can grease everything and they are much more heavy duty. Dont force them. Brass deforms if you force it.
