I have the hunting gaitors and give them a 5 star. The problem with the hiking gaitor is it is too small forlarge boots, as I need a size 12. Since this was pointed out in several reviews, I called Kenetrek and was assured the hiking gaitor would fit by size 12 over the ankle Hardscrabble hiking boots that Kenetrek makes. It does not fit.The hiking gaitor might work for low cut hiking shoes/boots in a size 12, but for any over the ankle boot the gaitor will not close, its 1-2 inches to small across the top of the foot. Might work for sizes 8 and under though.

Firstly, these are the low ankle Kenetrek *hiking* gaiters, not the hunting gaiters stated in the product page which are knee height. Secondly, these are so tight that I could not fit them around the cuff of my size 11 hiking boots. The velcro simply won't connect. These are basically meant for children. Too bad, because they're made of high quality materials. I had to return them.

These are working well for winter running in on snowy trails, which can involve periodically sinking into snow. They form a decent seal around running shoes to prevent snow from getting in. They stay up pretty well even with the pounding of running. The bottom strap does not collect wads of snow. They don’t look too dorky.

I used this in Africa to keep thorns and stickers out of my shoes while hunting in shorts because it was so hot. It worked well over taller boots. My only complaint is that the Velcro ends up digging into your skin about the middle of the day if you are doing any hiking. You need to keep the top a little snug to keep the junk out of your shoes but when you do that the Velcro digs in. Other than that they worked great.

Great hiking gaiter! Not to be confused with the hunting gaiter which are taller and made for moisture and snow. The hiking gaiter is shorter, keeps the annoying grit and stickers out of your boots. It's very comfortable! I would definitely recommend them!!!

Good product but sized small and does not work well with boots. It is designed to use with walking shoes.
