Make sure to read the product description. I have a pair of 26” metal Kanto speaker stands. I saw these 28” on sale and placed the order without checking the material. These are significantly lighter in weight and a lot less sturdy, which explains the price difference. Depending on your use and placement, I would pay the extra money for the metal stands. If you’re partial to kanto, they only offer 26” & 34” metal stands. My bookshelf speakers will be in a higher traffic area so I’d feel more comparable with the heavier stands. Luckily, I was able to swap out the base (with a little DIYing) with my existing stands so I get the extra height and sturdiness.

I like that they come with two sets of feet, for carpet and hard floors. They were easy to assemble and are holding up great. You can tell they were well-built.

The stands seem to be sturdy. Not difficult to assemble. Maybe it's me, but I had a little trouble feeding the wire through the stand, it kept getting caught. I just took off the top shelf, because I had already assembled it and the wire easily fed through and I put it back on (1 screw). They are reasonably stable. They are holding 11 lb Klipsch speakers. The speakers have not moved, but I decided to use Blu Tack putty because of the CA earthquakes. If you are looking for a reasonably priced stand, I would recommend these.

Great speaker stands! In my opinion they are probably the best ones on the market. Easy to assemble, super sturdy and they look great. They are perfect and my stereo system sounds a thousand times better now that I've raised the speakers to ear level. I was really missing out before having them positioned lower.10/10 recommend these stands!

These are nice minimalist entry-level stands, not serious stands suitable for heavy audiophile speakers.Everything is well-labeled, well-packaged, easy-to-assemble, and the finished product is attractive. However, I would not recommend these for high-quality main speakers (ie anything you really care about), but only for lightweight compact surrounds. The metal plates on which the speakers sit are tiny and unpadded; the bases of these stands are made not of metal, but of lightweight MDF.From a distance, nobody looking at them will know that the bases are cheap pressed particleboard, as the finish does a good job of mimicking that of the steel column, but you will know (and regret it).If you care about things like this, pay a little more and get a sturdier stand with a metal base and columns that can be filled. (Seriously, it pays to "buy once, cry once"… rather than buy the cheapest thing, then upgrade to the next step up, then the next step up.)On the bright side, Kanto includes both spikes and pads for the bottoms. As long as you keep your expectations in check, and do not expect premium performance from these lightweight stands, you might be satisfied.Definitely don't put them in a high traffic area with small kids, though. They cannot be filled with sand or shot to teduce resonance and make them more stable, because the entry point for the speaker wire is a wide cutout in the base of the stand. These are light enough to be easily knocked over by a child playing in a high traffic area.Kanto offers similar all stainless steel stands with rotating top plates, but they are not cheap ($180). Still, I would recommend those over this model.Normally I would recommend Monoprice's all-metal Monolith stands, which blow these out of the water in every way except for cable routing, but Monoprice's customer service isn't what it used to be, and it seems unable to keep those stands in stock... so good luck finding something heavy, well-made, and affordable. If you want a serious stand for a fair price, your best bet is probably to check your local craigslist or other online marketplace (rather than investing in a disposable cheap stand): fickle audiophiles are always offloading excellent high quality stuff for a fraction of their original price.

These stands are ideal for small bookshelf speakers like the Dali Spektor 1s. They are solid and well made and easy to put together. Because they are slimmer than stands designed for full size speakers, they fit well in a smaller room. Although you can’t fill the uprights with ballast, they are quite heavy and hiding the cables in the uprights makes them even more elegant. They were delivered quickly and were very well packed. A great product. Highly recommended.
