On long and fast songs I sometimes lose grip on a coventional (Fender) pick. Tjis one is more textured and grippy on both sides, not iust one. The larger size also makes it easier to readjust your grip if you don’t drop the pick but just allowed it to slide a bit in your hand. Also hreat for bass playing, where the larger size better distributes the impact of hitting the heavy bass string.

Reviewing guitar picks is a bit of a fools' errand, the selection of one being such a personal preference. That said, I play Appalachian String Band music and had been vacillating between a Dunlop Primetone 88 and a Wegen TF 140 (they were the ones I had, so I played with them). A friend gave me the Tortex Triangle 114 and it has become my preferred pick. Nice balance between sound and control.

I have tried many mandolin picks over the years, and this pick is now my go to pick.
