This works well for aligning a bandsaw. On a friend's bs it only had 1/8" blade so the magnets could hold tool off table. On my 1" blade it worked perfectly. Highly recommend this tool to line up bandsaw.

Only can grab a 1/2 or wider blade. Does not actually help alignment. Tested with 4 new blades from two sources, 1/2 and 3/4 inch, and when tracking perfectly in a 6 inch re-saw with guides retracted, the tool measured the blade as 1/8 difference end to end. Running a 14 inch Harvey band saw. Well made but band saws are not that easy. First iGaging tool I have been disappointed with. I test with MDF as it has no grain and won't push the blade unpredictably. Returning.

I do a lot of bandsaw work in my shop and this item seemed like a helpful add to my shop. While it does provide some usefulness regarding set up and repeatable measurements, I find that it stays on the side of the saw more than it is used. I have also gone to using set up blocks more often than not to set up dimensional cuts. So, this is a nice idea but I don't find it all that necessary. It will be a personal decision as to how useful it is for you.

Purchased this item to assist with alignment of my bandsaw’s table, fence and blade. Product is so simple to use, not sure why it hadn’t been designed decades ago!

A similar product by a different manufacturer is only about six inches long. The added length helps insure the accuracy nearer the ends of the miter slot and fence. The magnets are very strong and hold the gauge securely to the blade. Although you only get one gauge compared to the other four piece set, the price is about 1/3 less and I'm not sure why you would need four anyway. Which ever you choose to purchase, use your widest blade for set up for the most accurate reading with no blade twist.

Only one that is like the “Bandsaw Buddy” that is only available in the UK. Works great, easy band saw set up.
