Outstanding printer and scanner. What I love about this printer is that it looks great, has a VERY small spacial footprint and has absolutely outstanding print quality. The scanner is great (has both flatbed and feeder options). Interfaces well with my MacBook Pro (for scanning/prinitng). I use HP laser jet paper and both black and white and color prints are extremely good quality.Seriously well worth the price. Would strongly recommend if you are in the market for a very capable printer and fscannerx that is neither an eye sore or a massive in size. The only one minor limitation of the printer is that it does not have duplex scanning. If you have a high volume of double-spaced documents to scan, then this printer will create some extra work for you (scanning both sides and then combining in the software), which is a little annoying.

I have a small business and purchased this to replace a Dell 1815dn B&W & Dell 3110 Color laser printers. The Dells were great but had to replace them due to outdated drivers which degraded their functionality as I used newer operating systems. I use this on a wireless network with two computers, an Acer all in one and an Acer laptop. The HP alone seems to produce nice results as far as printing & scanning quality. It is on the noisy side, but that is not a big issue for me. The huge problem with this is setup. It states on the packaging that it is Windows 10 compatible. However, when I went to the HP website to download drivers and go through the install wizard, I would get multiple error messages. It took quite a while to find a support # at HP that would allow me to speak with a human. I eventually had to ask Amazon for a #. Once I was able to get HP support, it took over an hour for them to set up my first printer. They used remote access to configure my PC. They were very polite, but it was a long process. The next day I tried installing drivers on my second PC and got the same results. Another hour + spent with tech support setting up my printer on PC # 2. A few days later I started setting up the scan and email features, with more error messages. Another hour + with HP support. The same with the email feature from the scanner. The last call I just ran out of time and had to jump to a conference call. I just do not have the time to keep dealing with the setup, so I'm living without the email option. HP offered me an extended warranty for their support of the printer, but they wanted ~ $500 which was much more than I paid for the all in one. It works fine for now (except for the email function) but I would take pause before going down this road with HP again.

Can I add a 6th star? That's how much I love this printer. FINALLY a 'real' printer that works, doesn't make a freaking mess, and actually seems like it will last a long time. Why did I wait so long to 'upgrade' to this? I don't think I can ever go back to an inkjet printer. This thing is amazing. The print quality blows me away. The speed is awesome. And it prints both sides of a page without me having to touch or do anything. Nice.I have it hard wired into my desktop CPU (a printer USB cord is included!) Then I have an ethernet cable plugged in from the printer to my router and I have all my laptops set to print from anywhere in the house via wi-fi. Perfect. My 'old' ink jet required that I go "wake" the printer up before my laptop could wirelessly print to it. That was a nuisance. Not the case with this printer. I can be in the kitchen and tell it to print and it 'wakes' up the printer, prints what I want, then the printer goes back to sleep. Isn't this how it SHOULD be?Then there is the scanner. You can put pages into the top of the printer and tell the printer to scan them as JPEG or PDF and it will just suck them in, scan them, and spit them out and when it is done, you can save the output to wherever you would like. Heaven. Easy. Got something you don't think would 'feed' right? Just lift the lid, put the item on the scanner directly and do it that way. I don't think it would work great with a thick book (or anything very thick) as the lid sits flat when it is down, but I suppose you could just leave the lid up and scan while closing your eyes or turning your head away as the bright light goes by?The paper tray holds 150 sheets which is a step up from my last printer, so that's a plus. It'd be nice if it could hold more, but that is a minor quibble. This printer just screams 'quality' from the way the parts fit and operate to the way it prints. It draws paper up from the feed tray without trouble AND I can feed a single sheet into the front of the printer if I just want to print one page that way. Maybe you have a piece of letterhead you want to use. You don't have to pull out the feed tray and put it in there. You just stick it into the slot on the front, the printer pulls it in, and whatever you print will go on THAT page. Very handy. It will even work on envelopes (from what I've read) so I'll have to figure that out soon.Printing a color picture. Seems everything I read says "Laser Jets just can't compete with inkjets in this area." Well, I'm no expert but I can honestly say that this LASER JET printer from HP prints a heck of a lot better picture than my last three inkjets! Your results may vary, but if you are 'worried' about picture quality, don't be. It'll print a really nice picture!I would buy this printer again in a heartbeat. For my 'small business' work, it is perfect. As a home office printer, it is perfect. If you just need a nice home printer and you are tired of the mess of inkjets and the hassles of small paper trays and 'finicky' functioning with the $150 inkjets out there, just bite the bullet and pull the trigger on this thing. You will be so happy you did. I am.

Great Printer So Far. The printer seems to print fast relative to my Brother colour printer. The print quality also looks better than my brother printer. So far it's done what's it's supposed to. I took a star off because it had dropped the wireless connection a couple of times when it was asleep. Also, I thought it was able to do duplex scanning and faxing, but it doesn't. It's only able to print and copy on both sides but not scanning or faxing. However, setup was pretty easy. Took me about 15 minutes to setup all the functions I needed (print, scan, fax and copy).

Well I ordered this printer after my old HP Office jet broke down after getting clogged with ink for the umpteenth time. Never thought I could afford a laser, especially one that had all the features I wanted and was considered really good quality and fairly small. Well I ordered this based on everyone's reviews, and I have to tell you, I was a nervous wreck. This has a very small footprint for a laser, and is a smaller footprint than my Office Jet, but it weighs almost fifty pounds and I was terrified I would be one of the few people that ended up with a lemon. Look, it happens, especially with electronics. I could just see myself trying to repackage this thing and trying to drag it down to the UPS store, UGH! Broken back in the making!Well, I am so relieved, my machine is just as wonderful as everyone has reported, or almost everyone. It took me a long time to set up, very long, not because it is difficult, because it was very easy, but because I never work with technology and I work verrrry verrrry slooowly (LOL).Just as everyone said, it worked out of the box, even the fax machine worked with which I fought for years with my Office jet and was unable to ever establish a working fax line. This was unbelievably easy. I've tried printing a 38 page document on automatic duplex, and it did in maybe two minutes, like how fast it THAT???? Wowza! I tried copying, and no surprises there, it did a super job, (but why not it's probably the easiest thing for a printer to do other than print) but I only used the flat bed not the feeder. I scanned a real crummy piece of hand written notes to the machine and it works just fine, and I faxed to HP and they confirmed the fax was working. I haven't explored all the options in depth, though, so there is still more to discover and test out. About the hardest thing I did was try to install Readiris, a third party program (OCR scanner program) which will expire in 10 days without an activation code, and after paying for it and downloading it online was unable to activate it with my activation code, (the place with the activation code was greyed out) and i played with this thing for hours, trying even to do it manually as they suggested, to no avail, until I finally gave up and wrote Readiris an email requesting they help me activate the darn program or return my money, so I'm still waiting to hear from them. VERY frustrating and annoying, and time consuming to boot, but this has nothing to do with the printer itself. One thing I did notice was when I printed my 38 page document on one page it clipped off part of the letters that were all the way to the left. Maybe I have to adjust the borders or something, but other than that, this printer is a Ferrari - I mean the cost for a brand new laser printer for such a small footprint and so very many features that it does so well, (so far anyone, I mean its only day one after all) is really really ridiculous! $288 for a Laser in which, the toner will probably last me 5 years (LOL). I mean, thats lower than my HP Injet bought in Costco 5 years ago for $345. As for it's physical appearance-it's very nice. I mean I wouldn't say it is stunningly beautiful or anything, but it IS only a Printer and is much nicer to look at than the other laser monsters I've seen throughout the years and even present day. The aesthetics are certainly very nice. So although it is not what I would call a "stunner" visually, it's certainly more than nice enough, and the sound is so quiet, I don't even hear the fax go ding ding ding ding ding ding ding. All in all, so far al I can say, I'm extremely relieved, thrilled even and hoping it will continue to perform for many many years to come. Will keep you updated if anything changes, but I would say this is one of the best purchases I've made this year. So relieved.

I've had this printer for a couple of months and it has been fantastic and problem-free so far. Setup was a bit complicated for me at first and I'm fairly tech savvy, but not with printers I suppose. I was installing it directly (wired) to an older computer running Vista. I set it up with PCL6 eventually just by mistake if I recall correctly (I wasn't sure which option to choose) and it has worked perfectly since. So far I've mostly been using it for printing recipes from Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and directly from websites. Photographs look okay--not great though. When it goes into "sleep" mode (i.e. when it's not in use, but power is on) the power light flashes a white light approximately every 3 seconds. I would prefer that it wouldn't, but that's a pretty minor complaint. It starts printing much faster than my HP Color LaserJet CP1215 printer and hasn't hung on any print jobs yet--a problem I'm having a lot with the CP1215. I'm pretty impressed that the starter cartridges haven't run out yet as well.Overall I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend it to a friend--on a good sale. I think I got a really good deal on it--the price has nearly doubled since I purchased mine.
