The package was sealed, but much to my surprise, the filter was incredibly dirty! I had to clean it and it took a while. I've decided to send it back as I don't think it's appropriate to have to clean a filter that should be pristine out of of the box.

This is by far the best Polorizer I have ever used. It's a must have for landscape photography. Get magnificent blue skies and cloud definition. I just took a little side gig taking pictures of cars for a car lot for their website. With this filter on, the pictures come out amazing. You can adjust the glare of the sun right out of the windows and see right through them. Without adjustment the glass was washed out and looked terrible. Just a slight adjustment of the filter, clear as a bell. I highly recommend this. And very good for the price. The difference in my image quality completely justifies the purchase for me.

Nicely made and great image quality-I bought this one for my nifty fifty which I don't use that often. I shot it a few times on a trip with my 5dsr and it has great polarization and shows no issues-ring has tension but turns smoothly and I mounted 150x100 grads on it with no problems. As a side note-this is my first Hoya polarizer, I only use B+W but I was in a hurry and this one came next day-I don't see any noticeable difference between this one and the B+W as far as optical quality goes so it works for me!

Fits the lens...seems to polarize just fine. Affordably priced and arrived on time. What more can you ask for?

I had an "economy" Agfa polarizer lying around and put it on my new Sony RX 100 MK IV. It didn't seem to do anything in terms of polarizing any non metallic reflections. I have used a lot of polarizers over the last 35 years so I know how they are supposed to work... I ordered this Hoya and it is much much better. Great results in the forest taking mushroom photos this time of year (fall). The polarizer cuts the reflections from the damp mushrooms and really saturates the colors. Blue skies etc are not overdone. I mounted it to the 52mm Lensmate adapter for the RX 100 and they work great together.

Every lens filter that I use is a Hoya. I have always obtained excellent protection and serviceability from Hoya products, and this filter is no exception. It has performed well in all circumstances and helps provide excellent images while protecting the camera lens from dust, dirt and damage. A very well made glass filter with high grade aluminum framing. I would not hesitate to purchase another filter of this type. Hoya does a very nice filter at a nominal price.

Just returned from a trip to Glacier. Took a lot of shots to darken skies and diminish sun glare on water. It performed as advertised.

This is an excellent filter. I bought it for use on my Canon 50 1.8 and Canon 40 2.8 for making videos when the light is too bright to have the lens wide open without a filter.I tested it on both lenses and was interested to find that while photos with both lenses with filter in place were fine they were better on the 40 mm. This tells me that I should use the 40 mm rather than the 50 whenever possible. It is a sharper lens.Comparing the photos taken with the 40 plus filter with those taken without the filter show very little difference, other than a slight darkening, which is what you expect.I also took some photos with the 40 with this filter on top of a B&W ND filter and was pleased that the quality of the photo was still very good. This is important when the light is bright enough to need more than either of the filters alone. When putting the filter on the camera take care to be sure that you are tightening the threads and not just turning the portion that you turn to change the amount of darkening. it is a thin filter and would be easy to think you are turning the lower portion to tighten the threads when you are really turning the upper portion. The threads mated perfectly with the lens, but there is very little to get your fingers on to tighten the lens.If you need a 52 mm polarizer, this is an excellent choice. High quality at a bargain price.

Purchased three of these Hoya HRT PL Filters in the 52mm, 58mm, and 67mm size. Outstanding quality worksmanship on these new HOYA HRT PL FILTERS made in Japan. Hoya employs black metal rings, threaded on both sides, to secure the rotating PL glass filter. These Hoya HRT PL Filters have superb clear light transmission yet the PL effect comes with UV protection as well. These Hoya HRT PL Filters threaded onto my lenses perfectly as well as with any lens hoods or lens caps on the other side of the filters. These new Hoya HRT PL Filters will exceed the demands of any amateur or pro for your photo needs, and saved a few bucks to boot. No question that these new Hoya HRT PL Filters will go neck to neck against Sigma, B&W and Nikon in quality. Can't say enough, from the first class service of The Imaging World, Brooklyn, NY. Great service through Amazon, can't be beat! THANK YOU!
