If you see the small electronic mechanism of this clock you will ask yourself, "How is this worth $400?"

I love the majority of clocks that I have purchased over the years. Mostly Seiko and Bulova. This is my first Howard Miller clock (547-640). I couldn't be any more dissatisfied. It says it made of wood but feels like plastic. When I opened the door to place the batteries in, the speaker of this clock was hanging lose in the compartment. There were no scratches or dents. The musical part of the clock sounds muffled. Sound quality is poor and not crisp. I thought for sure this was would have been made in China, but it's American made. Which is even more disappointing. I would be ashamed to my name on this clock. For a clock that retails for over $400 dollars, I would move on to something else. There is no way this clock is worth the money. I would not shop Howard Miiler in the future.
