Oh my gosh, when this arrived, it came with no instructions in the box. It arrived otherwise very well packed to protect from damage, although this company uses that styrofoam that falls apart and sticks to every surface around the box for the next 2 days until you vacuum enough times. Still, you won't be heartbroken by damage to your lovely lion clock. But because I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, I could NOT figure out where the battery went. I have an antique clock where the face pops out, but I couldn't get it to budge on this one, and since it's obviously painted, I didn't want to risk damage to the face. There were screws on the back. No luck there. So I took the feet off and disassembled the entire thing to see that the back of the clock face was not accessible from the inside. So then I though, well, the face MUST pop out, I should try a little harder. So I reassembled everything and tugged on the face again and voila - out it popped. Oh my gosh, if there is a way to make things difficult, I will find it. So I thought, man I'm going to point this out in the review that they need to tell you this! So I went back to the listing, and sure enough I missed the instructional video, where they demonstrate exactly how this is done. [Hand slaps to forehead]. Anyway, I think a little diagram on a piece of paper in the box is needed here, because if this was a gift, how would you know if you didn't have familiarity with this style clock? Of course there is a part of me that loves to tear things apart to see how they work, so the "common sense" part of my brain didn't yell loud enough, "you shouldn't need to take this entire thing apart all the way down to the legs to change a darn battery, clearly you are going down the wrong road and need to reconsider your strategy". So there's that....So as for the aesthetics...most of my antiques are really at the level of vintage/second hand shop finds that are dinged up and have lots of "character". They qualify as antique because of age only, not because they are a treasure to anyone but me, so this fits right in to our decor and I think the company's use of the word "whimsy" is really prefect. It's attractive and whimsical as decor and I've been looking for something just like this for our living room. I would have purchased this even if it wasn't silent, because it's so adorable, but I am so grateful that it is indeed silent. I'm really only taking a star off for the lack of mercy shown by not including a diagram in the box WITH the clock. I will update later if it doesn't keep accurate time, but so far, so good!

The Tabletop Clock brings a touch of antique elegance to any space. The intricate details of the lion statue add a regal feel, while the Roman numerals contribute to the clock's classic look. It’s perfect for a desk, mantel, or as a decorative piece in a living room or office.**Pros:**- **Stunning craftsmanship:** The lion statue is well-made, with intricate details that make the clock stand out as a statement piece.- **Classic Roman numerals:** The large Roman numerals are not only stylish but also easy to read, giving the clock a timeless appeal.- **Compact yet noticeable:** The size is ideal for a desk or mantel, providing presence without being too overpowering.- **Durable construction:** The materials feel sturdy and built to last, which adds to its antique charm.**Cons:**- **Limited functionality:** This is more of a decorative clock, so if you're looking for advanced features or precision, it might not be the best choice.- **Weight:** Due to its solid build, the clock is slightly heavier than it looks, which could be a consideration for placement on delicate surfaces.- **Battery compartment:** Access to the battery compartment could be easier, as the design prioritizes aesthetics over practicality in this area.**Overall Impression:**This clock is perfect for anyone looking to add a touch of sophistication to their home or office. While it may not offer modern clock features, its antique style, combined with the lion statue, makes it a standout decorative piece that will surely be admired by guests.

I was not a fan of the cheese color. The picture makes it look magestic and almost an antique quality. It was the fakest looking color you can imagine and did not fit with our decor. There were no instructions so figuring out where to put the battery was not fun. Very disappointed.

This gold-toned clock stands one foot tall and looks absolutely majestic setting on my mantle piece. It is quiet and makes no noise. Thus far, it keeps accurate time. Be aware that there is no way to access the back of the clock mechanism to insert the AA battery! We tried everything and looked at it from every angle only to realize that the clock simply pops out from the front! Talk about a duh! moment! A lot of effort went into what should have been (and was) super easy! It's a nice clock. I'm a Leo. I love things with lions on them and that includes this very regal and royal-looking clock.
