As with everything I have purchased from Hoppe's it stands up well. I shoot quite a bit which means I clean quite a bit and this has held up to the torture.

First time I’ve ever used a barrel snake. It’s a game changer. It’s easier to use than cotton sheets and cleans even better. It’s a great valve for the money. I would recommend!!

These new style snakes are great! I keep one with each of my rifles (in the stock or the grip). Depending on the caliber, the snake and occasional chamber brushing keep them soic and span. Others the snake is used for emergency debris removal or quick cleanings in the field or between long strings of fire.They are easy to clean with unscented laundry detergent and should last you a year or two of very heavy use before the brush diameter decreaseoand loses efficiency.

A lot of my friends recommended using bore snakes, but I had always gone old-school with brush attachments on the rod and a myriad of patches. The bore snake is everything that everyone said it is--easy to use and a lot faster. I still run a few patches through the barrel, but the bore snake makes the whole process a LOT faster.

The first time through my rifle, it was a real chore. I pulled the metal tip off the pull when I tried to use the "handle". But once I wrapped the cord around my hand and got someone else to hold the rifle, I was able to get it through. The brass imbedded in the cord is really tight until you've run it through a couple of times, then still tight, but manageable. Does a great job once used a few times and you have the brass leaning in the right direction. So be prepared, the first time is a real chore. Did I mention that? I put the metal end back on, but don't even try to use the "handle" (lid to the case). I just put a glove on, wrap the cord and pull hard.

This item does the job. Based on other reviews, first thing I did was measure the plastic piece to make sure it would go through the barrel! Guess they must have corrected it.Easy to use as opposed to rods etc. Can carry it in your pocket.
