Reviews of different vendors and buyers' experiences had me nervous, but I gambled and went with this one to replace the original remote that had finally quit. The is the REAL deal remote, identical, not OEM.Took me longer to find a youtube video with instructions than to actually sync it with my aging gas fireplace. Total time (had to find my glasses and paper clip) 10 minutes. Great experience.

Quite a few people, including me, have asked if the 2166-330 heat and glo remote is the same as their Heatilator 2166-331; after all, they appear to be identical. I researched buying the correct part # remote and even asked resellers if it was the same as the cheaper Heat and Glo remote. No one would say it is. Most places the 2166-331 was twice the price! Well, I ended up replacing my Heatilator 2166-331 with this remote and it works just fine. In fact, this remote is not even branded Heat and Glo. I looked up instructions for pairing this 2166-330 Heat and Glo remote and found it to be exactly the same process as for my Heatilator. The pairing worked first time. I can’t guarantee it’ll be the same for your Heatilator fireplace but I suspect it will. If you do go for the 2166-331 instead you’re going to pay twice the price …so the 2166-330 is worth a try!l, no?

The display on our fireplace remote started to malfunction so we bought this as a replacement. It synced easy (search YouTube for a simple remote syncing how to video) and works awesome! Great price too!

This was a replacement for our original remote for our gas fireplace. The old one wasn't working properly at all and it was taking us several minutes to turn the fireplace on and off. We were skeptical about re-ordering the same exact one having been told how horrible they can be. But this new one works perfectly! Easy to pair up with the fireplace.

I bought this to replace my old rc300 remote which was dropped,it still worked but you could'nt read the set temp. And some of the display was missing so i figured i would bite the bullet and buy a new one,a little pricey and kind if wierd to program but through trial and error with my other one i'm able to do it with know problem anyway it works as intended so everything is good.

My remote stopped working I called the dealer to order the remote and it was over $200 and another $100 to come out and pair it to my fireplace. I looked everywhere and it was about the same price . I came across this one and thought it was too good to be true as it’s the same remote for about half the price. I was skeptical and as soon as it came I rushed to open it up to make sure it was what was promised and it was:) I went online to YouTube and learned how easy it was to pair and saved myself another $100. So happy that I found this remote for this price and it works great.
