I put both of them up on my fence as birds were nesting underneath my metal roofing sheets. Since I've put them up, I have not heard, or seen, any birds in the normal locations. I placed small rocks inside and even during strong winds, these things actually stayed in place. Perhaps my birds aren't the smartest, but so far, they're working for me.

We had a problem with swallows nesting in the entryways to our church. It is illegal to forcefully evict the swallows once they start hatching babies, no matter how much their excrement splatters right in front of the doorways into the church! Each year after they left we would use a ladder and tear down the nests, but as soon as they returned they would rebuild their nests in the exact location and our problems would start all over again! Last year after my purchase, and when the swallows began to return, but before they could build new nests, I purchased this two pack of owls and placed one each above our two entrances. Bingo! No more swallows. They would fly up to their old nest location, see the owl, and skedaddle!

These are nice models and maybe they work for some people, but not for me. This morning there was literally a bird sitting on top of the darn thing! LOL FYI If you do buy them, they have a hole in the bottom to fill with rocks or sand to add weight and balance. Good luck!

They don't scare the birds or the squirrels or the bunnies from their perch on my fence

Kong used to be in a fight with a bird. Everyday when i went to my vehicle there would be bird poop all down the side of it. Kong wanted to smash!! I waved my fist in the air and threatened any bird i saw! The threats didnt work and day after day poop in the same spot! NOT ANY MORE! These fake bird scare the scrawny birds away and dont come near my car anymore! Very nice.

We have a strawberry and blackberry patch in our back yard. We had always had birds invading them till we put these up on the fence by the patch. One on the end of the blackberries the other above the strawberries and no birds to deal with. Don’t put them out if you want birds in your yard because you won’t get them. Great item. Put some sand in them and they survived rain wind and a hail storm.

I have a feral cat on my porch and was sick of the birds doing their business and eating the cat food on the porch. So I heard that a decoy owl can do the trick. I cleaned the porch off and for a week there were no bird dropping on the porch. They work great but...after a week the birds figured out that it was not a real owl. In order to stay 1 step ahead of the birds you have to change the placement of the decoy owl. I also purchased the bird reflectors and all animal repellent. All 3 together do a very good job of keeping the birds off of the porch. If you do not want to change the placement of the owl, get one that has a head that will swivel in the wind or one that moves periodically. It will seem more life like.

The purpose of using fake owls is for a scarecrow effect. Fake owls do not work for me. Within minutes of putting these two owls in place, the fake owls immediately made friends with other birds. Smaller birds stood next to them chirping away trying to have a conversation with them. At one point I thought for sure the small bird was going to hump the fake owl but he flew away when he saw me about to take a picture of him. I guess he was camera shy.
