I like the look and style of the light. I was hoping for a *little* bit more light from the cap, but it works well as a driveway marker. The extension, which I did not use is plastic, but the top is made from copper colored metal. We will see how it weathers in the desert heat.

I have white plastic railings with 4" posts around the walkway and deck of my house, and these dropped right on top to replace the broken mangled top covers that were grubby and finally finished off by a hailstorm. The battery in them is adequate to light them all night, they're still on at 6 AM when the sunlight finally shuts them off. They look like they were made for the railing, exactly the same color and style. I had to pre-drill the holes for the screws that secure the tops to the post, they don't drill their own hole. I cannot speak for their longevity, I've had these about two months. The overall effect is very pleasing, kind of ghostly. Good product so far, I thought they were a little pricey. Hope they survive a few hailstorms. I have an extra in a closet just in case.

I ordered the 12-pack. Just got them two days ago. The sleek design is great. Quality looks good. Easy to install. The bad thing is the light is a very cool, almost blue, light instead of a warm yellow light my old lights emitted. They also are not very bright. I am going to see if I can replace the bulbs inside because everything else is good - just bad lighting.

I purchase 13 of these for my newly build deck in April 2017. 2 years later 4 have stopped working entirely and the remaining ones range from barely visible when on to oh look it decided to turn on tonight! And yes, I’ve checked and replaced the removable battery with new ones and cleaned and checked the wiring. Looks like either the capacitor or the led itself has gone. These are super easy to use and install and the fact that they are solar and battery is a big plus because you don’t have run wiring. Unfortunately the build quality and design is terrible considering their intended use. They simply don’t last as outdoor led deck lights. Which kinda defeats the purpose!First of all these are not weather sealed at all! So water easily gets in between the housing and causes the screws to rust and algae and dirt to build up inside. See photos. The algae builds up on the clear plastic reducing the lights overall brightness as well as on the reflective planner used under the led. This then causes the reflective surface to eventually start peeling. You can avoid this be taking them apart and cleaning inside every few months, but let’s be honest that’s a real PITA! These should only need a general clean once or twice a year along with the rest of the deck.As other reviewers have noted, the solar panel is plastic and even after just a few months it will start to haze over. This significantly reduces the charging efficiency. And lastly the white plastic used is cheap and will yellow quite a bit. I have white posts and railing which are still perfectly white with what are now yellow led post caps.The old adage of you get what you pay for applies perfectly to these. If you want something that will last along with the rest of your deck, spend the extra money and buy quality. If however your deck is covered and protected from the elements then these might work for you.

We had earlier versions of these post lights ( to mark the two staircases off of our deck ) that lasted 3-4 years before the white plastic body( probably polystyrene ) started to degrade and splinter and flake off surface chunks. The lighting circuit was still working pretty well(replaced the original batteries after 2 years) despite the solar cell lens becoming foggy. So we decided to replace them with these"copper coated" versions. The copper is plated onto the plastic like the flash chrome bumpers on a plastic car model kit ( actually the firststep in the chrome plating is a layer of copper, and then the chrome is plated to the copper ) and then a clear coat is put on top. It looks as good as it does in the photos ( which is great ) so even if it only lasts the same amount of time as the plain white plastic ones it'sstill an excellent buy for a set of four.
