The garlic press is really nice. It’s quite heavy duty and feel substantial in your hand so you know it’s not gonna break the first time you use it on hard garlic.

I’ve tried a bunch of garlic presses before, and the plated ones always flaked after a while. But this stainless steel press is way better with its smooth finish. It makes pressing garlic super easy, and clean-up is a breeze. It fits nicely in my hand and can hold a couple of cloves at a time. The garlic comes out perfectly, and the scraper is handy for clearing the chamber when I'm done. It’s a solid choice for anyone who likes cooking with garlic.

This is a nice heavy press. I have gone through a lot of presses as they tend to loosen up or just fall apart, This is one years from now someone will say "Did I tell you this used to belong to Grandpa? If you do not like this press and are not happy the way it works, then give up garlic.

The stainless steel feature of the JGNYMG press is what really sold me. I have had other presses which are plated, and they always start to flake and bubble over time. This press has a smooth stainless finish that easily presses garlic, and is easy to clean and maintain. It fits easily in the hand, and holds a couple cloves in its chamber. The included tools are helpful, especially the garlic peeler, which works surprisingly well, as I have never tried one before and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it makes peeling garlic. The unit is built sturdily, and should hold up, especially when you wash it in the dish washer.

Heavy-duty and works great! The peel remover works, too, and it's dishwasher safe. We really don't use the other accessories. They're not necessary. I'll never mince garlic again!

Love this great garlic press. I had a very expensive one years ago that I got at one of those kitchen parties - I ended up tossing it in the trash because most of the garlic stayed in the press and was not extruded through the holes. A total waste of garlic (I started just chopping garlic by hand after that...which I hate doing). But, this press is much better as the bulk of the garlic comes through the press in perfectly-sized bits. The scraper that comes with it is also helpful for scraping off the pressed garlic and cleaning out the chamber after pressing. I'm quite pleased with this little gadget. It made making chili the other night a breeze!

The stainless steel design is sleek and looks nice on the counter. After multiple uses and washings and it still looks like it did when it arrived. It's sturdily built and the swing away grate with its generously sized mesh, maximizes the pressure when squeezed, making the mashing of garlic and ginger a breeze. This is particularly useful for Asian and Indian recipes calling for ginger garlic pastes. Depending on the fibrousness of your ginger, the included scraper and brush are the ideal size to clean out fibers from the grate basket. The press feels solid in your hand and I've yet to feel fatigue because of its weight. It's best to dice big garlic and ginger pieces before trying to press, otherwise you'll need to to apply more pressure. Also, overfilling the basket will cause some to squeeze up the sides of the basket, but even this is mashed enough to use. The included scraper comes in handy for clearing the grate between crushes. I also found this useful for squeezing quartered slices of lemons and limes when I just need a few drops of juice with a spritz of zest oil. I don't recommend using the scraper, in this case, though. The pith will turn the resulting juice bitter. In contrast, my old aluminum press worked okay, but it took a lot more squeezing and more would come up the sides than out of the grate. Also, the grate was impossible to clean and scraping off the garlic over the years has resulted in a convex grate. Where did all that aluminum go??? Stick with stainless steel.

I can actually sum this up pretty easily: I love this garlic press because I love garlic, like I'll put an entire head of garlic in a recipe that only calls for one clove, love garlic . And that translates to a lot of time processing garlic, we're probably talking 100's of hours over the past 30 years. And I enjoy chopping it, pressing it, and even twisting it (the NexTrend was my preferred method for the past 20 years, until I found this press), but what I don't like, and never have, is peeling it. I've tried all the tricks, like the little silicon sleeves that you roll them in, and some said the garlic twister could be used without peeling the cloves... nah... not unless you like spending more time sorting the peel from the garlic than you would have spent peeling it in the first place. There is only one trick that works, flat chefs knife over the clove, solid thwack, and remove the peel from the semi-crushed clove. It's not so bad, most of the time it's pretty good, but there are always recalcitrant cloves, and that's -not- fun.So you can imagine the pleasure I get out of being able to throw an unpeeled clove of garlic into this press, squeeze out the garlic and pull the peel out to be discarded. It's easy and it's satisfying.Beyond that, this garlic press is solid. I wasn't sure that would be the case, so I took a chance placing this order and I am very, very happy. I spent my first 5 years in a kitchen using a Kuhn Rikon garlic crusher with a handle made of some kind of "durable" molded plastic (they're still selling it for $20) that came with a warranty. That garlic crusher broke on me after a little more than a year of use, then the next one broke, and then the one after that, for a total of 3 or 4 times. The first time I put it up to a fluke, paid to ship it back to them and was happy to receive my replacement. The second time I questioned them on their quality control and design, and sort of begrudgingly paid the return shipping, which taken twice was getting close to the price I originally paid for the garlic press. The third time I was positively frustrated, this is Kuhn Rikon, a reputable Swiss company, and I asked them to credit me my original purchase price toward the purchase of their stainless steel garlic press of the same design. They said they would not, and I don't honestly remember if I got another replacement out of spite, or I just threw the thing in the trash and moved on to the NexTrend garlic twist (which held up through 15 years of hard use, and only broke a tooth because I dropped it).Okay, a lot of story telling, but what I'm trying to elucidate is just how incredible this garlic press here is. Kuhn Rikon wants $20 for a press that will either break during the 2 year warranty period, to your own disadvantage, or even worse just outside the 2 years, to your even further disadvantage. And they want $54 for their stainless steel press of a very similar design to this one here. This press is solid, like go full Gordon Ramsey and hurl it at your sous chef in a rage with no fear of damaging your garlic press (please don't do that though, this thing is solid and has some heft). It is easy to clean because of the pull out sieve (which really puts it above the garlic twister, which could be a pain to clean sometimes). It is really easy to use, ymmv here as I have decent grip strength, but it doesn't feel to me that it offers much resistance at all. And yes, the coup de grace, you can just throw the unpeeled clove right in and the garlic just extrudes out without any further effort. Beautiful, just beautiful.I highly recommend this garlic press. This is a rare item that meets and exceeds all expectations.P.S. I did try to video this press in action, but it was awkward to operate it with one hand and video with the other resulting in a poor video. So what you have is a little story in 4 pictures, hopefully it will be enough to convey the idea of it's operation and the ease of crushing unpeeled cloves.
