This fuel door release works as it should. This was the original, one-piece fuel door release for at least the 2007-2014 series GM full-size SUVs. The 2021 and newer Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Yukon XL have a much more complicated and much cheaper junk fuel door release that breaks very easily. It has two parts, a plastic post with a thin rubber dust boot on the fuel door which one can buy from dealers for about $20, and a receiver built into the inside of the fuel filler housing which they do not sell. The only way to replace it is to buy the entire fuel housing from a dealer. So I bought this 2007-2014 fuel door release. Using a utility knife, I cut a matching square hole in the fuel housing plastic of my 2021-2024 model Suburban, popped this in and it snapped in securely. Instant success. It works better than the OEM, is cheaper, and much more durable.
