Old plastic parts would not keep my gas door shut, this solved the problem. Install was easier than getting the truck apart but it's an 09.

Dont worry - the flet head screw doesnt have any threads on the plastic side to go into but this is normal it is pressure held by the spring. 5 minutes and youve saved 50 dolllars!!! Better than new and the new door would of just broken anyway.

The pin mechanism fixed the issue with my car however the spring that came with the kit is made out of too thick of wire and lacks the springiness of the original spring. Mechanism did not work properly with the provided spring so I had to use the original spring. Had my original spring been bad, this kit would not have worked properly.

The parts fit fine and should be a permanent fix because the plastic OEM part that fails is replaced with a metal part.There are no instructions or anything included so I've attached a photo of the spring installation as a reference.There are a few good videos on YouTube about removing the fuel door assembly, which you must do in order to replace these parts.Well worth doing yourself vs taking it to a shop.Just don't scratch the paint while removing the fuel door assembly.
