My husband is a former sculptor and he can recall being such in the 70's and not having the better artist chair, just like this one is. It was easy to put together, he ended up completing the buil project while watching one of his favorite shows which just proves how easy it was to assemble; he didn't even need to give the task his full attention. The wood that it is made from is high-end walnut, for sure, and I love how it is so easy to adjust it to his perfect sitting position and height. The feel of the entire unit is smooth, it is easy to move around, and it is severely balanced. It is a lovely, higher end value of a deal that is worth the purchase price.

It's made of flimsy particle board, and it uses those ridiculous little screws and bolts that Walmart furniture uses. It's barely tall enough to get you above the edge of a table. When you sit on it after about half an hour it works itself loose and then it starts to break. Avoid this crap.

My great grand daughter loves to do art. For her birthday I bought her a nice easel and all her art supplies, now purchasing stool for her to add to her enjoyment of art . Delivered out of state. Has arrived for her Christmas present. Very well made.

Great, mostly solid stools, too bad one came without threading in the port. Returning that one and re-ordering -- hoping I don't get another lemon. The stools are mostly solid, meaning the bolts, screws, ports, etc are better than the average Chinese quality, just not rock-solid like back in the day.
