It is the size of a baritone ukulele and will be tuned just like a bass guitar. Strung with heavier gauge strings, this baritone ukulele is used as a bass instrument in acoustic sets and brings an excellent low-end tone. The ukulele is excellent. Amazon packing was terrible. The ukulele box was put in a much larger box, without packing. The ukulele had come out of its box and was saved from damage by the gig bag.

The E string is almost mute, I have been trying different combinations of EQ and amp controls but are not able to make the E string produce a sound volume even close to the other strings

Great fit and finish, no sharp fret ends, intonation spot on. Sounds great acoustically and through an amp or PA. It took a few days for the strings to settle in and now stays in tune very well. Fun little bass!

For the price range, this is a nice Ubass. The only issue was that it has sharp fret ends, which I cleaned up. If you're not familiar with doing it, you may either want to find someone who can do it, or pass on this one. As far as playability, this is pretty much just as good as the more expensive models. The tuner works well. It is pretty much everything I expected for a Ubass (after taking care of the fret ends). The strap is a nice touch, especially since this was purchased to be a gift.

For the price it is a good instrument for someone like me who is starting to learn to play Bass Ukulele. Rattled a bit when it first arrived but found the cable clip inside the instrument had become unstuck from the body. A finger placed through the strings and by pressing on the cable clip rectified this problem.

Can't match this quality at this price point, I don't know how they do it! I did sand the fret edges to get rid of a bit of sharpness, but that is easy to do and common even on much more expensive instruments. I also found the white strings that came on the bass a bit too sticky for fast movement around the neck, so I would suggest switching them out unless you play very simple bass lines. I chose Aquila Thunder Reds as replacement strings, they are a bit thinner and much less sticky. The case that is included with the bass is well padded and a very nice accessory, surprising at this price point to have that and a few other items included with the purchase. Onboard tuner and preamp did need batteries after a short time, so I replaced them, it was easy to do. The electronics work just fine and provide a wide range of very usable tones, the ukulele players I play with are impressed and very glad to have a bass player in the group. My opinion is that you can't go wrong with this - priced like a starter instrument, I can't see a reason why I'll ever have to upgrade (and I've been playing bass guitar for decades).
