Tried tool yesterday on front caliper of 2004 Saturn Vue. Was not smooth as I tried to tighten tool. Also was too small (narrow) to fit over entire caliper, but was able to slide out caliper by removing bolts . Was in process of checking pads and needed to compresss piston to get caliper back over pads after checking, Very awkward and did not compress easily so got out 'C' clamp - much easier! I will continue to try on other vehicles.

A must have for brakes work and suitable for other uses. Amazon listing confusingly says "plastic", the tool is all metal. The screw slides smoothly. Jaws wobble slightly, but the tool is not designed for precise work. Good tool.

I do my own brakes on my vehicles and I help my friends change theirs as well.I used to push back the piston using a C-clamp.It does the job but it is not user friendly. and it it a pain to manually turn the handle bar.With this item, it is so much easier.I love that you can use a 1/2 inch ratchet to turn and push on the pistons.A great tool to have in your tool box!

Its larger then I thought it would be, and that's a good thing. This tool will last for years. I used it already on my truck and it saved me a lot of time not having to fight the caliper with a screw driver or a clamp that almost fits to spread the pads back.
