I have this bash guard on my Surron racing build. I pretty much only ride that surron in dirt race tracks that do not have many obstacles. I use this bash guard because its pretty much the lightest one available while still offering some protection. However, carbon fiber is not the most ideal material for this application since it is not as durable as steel when it comes to impacts. You can notice other reviews on this product showing what happens when this bash guard catches a rock. If you know anything about carbon fiber, this makes sense. Its really strong but not as great when it comes to impact resistance because it can crack. While steel simply bends but will not be entirely destroyed upon impact.For that reason, I only use this bash guard on my racing build because I do not encounter many obstacles or rocks on the track. The main appeal of this bash guard is the weight savings since its lighter than the stock bash guard which is made from a very thin steel. If you do a lot of off road single track riding, this bash guard probably isn't the best option for you since it won't hold up to some of the hits you might encounter. If you anticipate running into rocks or stumps, you would probably be better served by a steel bash guard.The fitment of this bash guard was acceptable. It fit pretty well on my surron using the stock hardware. I'm also glad to see that there is no "funparts" logo plastered all over this part like some of the other carbon fiber "funparts" branded stuff. I really don't like how their logo is on the other parts I have so it was refreshing to see that this bash guard has no branding. They can put their brand on it when they start sponsoring me.Overall, this is a decent bash guard as long as you understand the limitation of carbon fiber parts. I think carbon fiber is a decent material for some of the plastics and fender pieces on the surron like the battery lid but its not great for parts that need to take an impact like the bash guard since it can shatter and crack. It is extremely light which is the main benefit but the protection it offers is basically one step up from no bash guard. This bash guard will protect your engine and phase wires but you might have to replace it after the first hit or two. If you want something that can take a few hits and keep going, steel is the way to go.

I have almost every part that fun parts makes for the Surron, I got the bash guard under the impression that it would be durable, as the fenders and chain guard had already stood up against a few falls. The bash guard however seems to be made even weaker than the fenders which is crazy since the name implies it’s meant to stand up to some beating. I was doing a wheelie at about 20 mph and came down rather hard and the front wheel kicked up a golf ball sized rock that hit and cracked the bash guard instantly. This would not stand up to a rock on trails if you were to bottom out or even a tree stump.

Just like others have stated, if used properly this is fine. I never see rocks, so it’s perfect for my setup, plus I’m going for an all carbon look. It was a tight fit on bottom and i had to bend one of the square mounts so that it didn’t wrap it between the cover and the frame, as it was too tight to start threading the bolt that way. Other than that, it fits excellent and looks even better. High quality product and real carbon fiber.They also made the intelligent decision to NOT stamp their logo under the clear coat, which they should do for all their parts. No one wants their stupid logo visible like that and i guarantee it loses them business.

Unfortunately my photos don’t show this product well du to the location on the bike and poor lighting. This protects the underside of the bike and the motor housing and wiring. It seems strong but hard to say if will be stronger that the heavy plastic plate that comes stock on the bike. Looks really nice and clean with our other CF parts from the same maker. We love it!
