Love this product. Just started to use my smoker, and this wood added an amazing taste to the meat. The wood burned evenly throughout the smoking process.

The wood I received with this order looked and smelled totally different from the previous times I ordered from them. The last 3.5-pound box was wonderful. Fragrant and delicious results. I had neighbors come up and ask about the wood I used from the way it made the block smell! This time, however, it smelled like we had chopped down a random tree in the backyard. The wood was pure white and smelled kind of sour. The smoke was harsh and unpleasant and left a bad flavor to the meat. I have another box coming and will follow up on that one's quality

Quality wood, no chunks of random stuff in the box. Good sized chunks that work great for my Charcoal smoker. I enjoy the flavour and think it's a good value for the cost.Gives off good quality smoke and I will definitely purchase from this brand again.

I got this wood primarily to smoke salmon and trout.The chunks come in a variety of sizes which is pretty typical for most smoke woods.The wood lights up easily, produces nice smoke and gives great alder flavor.

Good wood chunks. Alder chunks are kind of hard to find for me in stores, usually they are chips if available even. My smoker works best with chunks and these worked out great for my smoked salmon. Little pricey for what you get but the added convenience having it delivered quickly works out for me.

The wood was very dry and high quality, there was just a large variation in wood chunk sizes in the box. Some of the smaller ones were almost gone before the larger ones quit giving off dirty smoke

First bought these in May 2017. It's December 2018 and just finished the 5 lb bag. These were great -- good quality, no rot, nice size chunks. Alder is perfect with salmon and trout. I use the Weber Smokey Mountain with a single chimney of coals and a single lump of alder wood to smoke salmon. It's the taste of the Northwest, and brings back memories of living in Alaska. Smoke for an hour to get traditional smoked salmon, smoke for 7 hours to get salmon jerky.
