I bought this to do my father-in-law's brakes thinking it would be easier then the C-clamp I've used for years. It was. Remember to uncap the reservoir (and watch the brake fluid levels) and things will go well.

There are fancy tools to push brake pad calipers back when you’re changing pads, and there are the utilitarian tools that do the job, do it well, and don’t empty your wallet.This is the second. I have brake pads sitting in my tool chest waiting for a warm day to get installed. This tool is the same type I was looking at in the local inexpensive tool shop. You know the one. The quality seems better on this one, and the screw moves smoothly.It definitely meets my personal rule of single purpose tools not costing more than the parts for the job. So if you need a brake caliper spreader, this one’s for you.

It's a bit too wide to work properly on my Subaru Outback rear calipers. (It still sorta worked, but it's too wide to fit inside the caliper carrier)

This is a good quality brake caliper piston compression tool. Brake calipers can be unusually designed in such a way that a C-clamp won't work. I'm using this in a non commercial situation. However, it would work well in a garage. It's a sturdy, thick steel plate with a nice size turning screw. This is a good value.
