This is a basic small mat for backpacking or camping. It will be great for our next backpacking trip but because it is so skinny I don't think I will be using it for camping as I would want something that has a little more to it. It was easy to pump up, my 11 year old son was able to do it on his own. We did use a small pump that we have to make the process go faster. For a thin, lightweight air mattress it is comfy. Overall, as mentioned above, this will work great for backpacking trips when space and weight is of the essence.

I ordered two of these mats because my house is small, and I was having some family members stay over. These seemed like a solid sleeping solution for some of my younger nephews. I ordered the mats early (trying to be proactive), but did not open them until I needed them. The mats would not inflate at all - I think someone forgot to install that critical inflating feature? - and, when I inflated them using my air pump, they quickly deflated. Essentially, I paid money for two flat pieces of plastic that I can no longer return because I am one day past the returning window. (Family visited on 8/22 - I tried to inflate them that night - what a bust - today is 8/23, and - ugh - yesterday was my last day to send them back. Womp, womp.) Maybe I just received two very unfortunate lemons, but this product was 100% unusable.

Was that the ground? Didn’t even feel that rock under my shoulder all night….honestly, it’s ok. It works to keep you off the ground, and is much better than just a foam mat.

Quite nice, folds up small, lightweight. So easy to pump up and comes with a handy carrying case. Built in pillow and long enough for a 5’9” person, with a few inches to spare. Comfortable for back or side or stomach sleeping.

This review is for the purple/blue sleeping pad because most of this listing reviews are for a different sleeping pad (green). This purple/blue sleeping inflatable sleeping pad has no frills and is very basic. This sleeping pad is very lightweight and long, but the benefits stop there. There's one valve by the pillow that you can manually pump (by mouth) or use a pump. I didn't time it exactly, but it took about 3-5 minutes to inflate by mouth (depends on your lung capacity) and the air pump was less than 1 minute. To deflate, it's easier to use a pump. If you don't have a pump, I had trouble completely removing all of the air; it took more than 15 minutes and I only managed to remove 90%. The sleeping pad does not fit in the bag if you can't remove 95%+ of the air.The cushion that it provides is mediocre. I tested this item on a cot, hardwood floor, and on a self-inflating sleeping pad. Its benefit on the cot and hardwood floor is miniscule. It gives you some cushion but not by much; it might help if there are small pebbles or debris on the ground if you are not on the heavier side. This is probably my least liked sleeping pad that I've tried. I recommend splurging a little more so you can get a better sleeping pad. It's worth spending a little more since this sleeping pad is so basic. The pillow is okay if you like flat pillows.Tip: It absorbs oil easily so I recommend using a cover.

After having slept on this for a couple nights I though I'd share my experience. Please note that I didn't use this sleeping pad on the ground, I used it on top of a cot.Inflation was easy enough, there is a foam pad underneath the inflation valve that you step on after sealing the valve on top of the pillow. The foam pad expands again and again and acts as a pump. I wouldn't step on this valve with shoes as you are expected to sleep on top of the thing, but more on that later. The instructions claim that inflation can be done in less than a minute. It took me about 2-3 minutes to inflate it working at a moderate pace.Once inflated the entire mat becomes rigid and expands to have a cushion that's about 2 inches thick. It does still have some play like all air mattresses do and will deform around your body. This does make it comfortable, but if you move a lot in your sleep it can become uncomfortable as the material is noisy if you are moving on top of it. When rubbing the material it makes a "swish" sound. On top of the noise, the included pillow is fine as a last resort, but it holds your head at an awkward angle and made my neck extremely uncomfortable. If the pillow deflated a bit more it would still make noise if you moved your head around but could be more comfortable. The pillow doesn't have it's own valves separate from the main pad so it's all connected. Once you lay on the pad, the pillow gets stiffer.I found the pad most comfortable using a regular pillow and sleeping on the pad upside down (your feet towards the inflatable pillow). Because I was resting on the pad upside down that meant that the back of my head and pillow were on top of the intake valve used for inflating which is why you want to keep it clean by not using shoes. If this pad could have a version two made it would need to have the pillow covered in a softer material that won't make a loud rubbing sound if you move around on top of it. it would also need to have it's own seal to inflate independently from the main pad so you can inflate it enough to support your head but not so much that your neck gets put at an awkward angle.

Being able to adjust the firmness of the pad is a game changer. I can customize it to my liking for a good night's sleep.

At first it seemed fine, but it only stayed inflated two nights. By the third night it was flat and we were just over the 30 day return window, so we can’t return it.
