This item works very well. It's quite and easy to manage. But the instructions are lacking. It left out important details like how to prime it. There's also a pump on it that I still don't know what it's for. Also there a rubber funnel that's not listed that comes in handy during prime.During prime I found that filling the canister with water after the filters are installed speeds up prime emensly.

This was kinda hard for me to figure it all out, took me about 3 hours to get it right. But that can also be because this is my first time using a canister filter. The pipe tubing tends to kink a lot and it makes it harder for the filter to even start. Had to make adjustments just for it to work on my 20 gallon long baby turtle tank, used this filter because when it comes to turtles it’s best to have a stronger filter, even more so when you have fish in with the turtle. So far works good, hopefully it last me awhile even with every tank update my turtle would have throughout its life time. I will update if anything bad happens with the filter. And hopefully it’s not a pain in the back for anyone else to put together like it was for me.

I got this for my flex 15 as the stock filter setup didn't do a good job at cleaning the water, it sucks too sadly,Installed this and had issues getting it started, filled up the can with water like all my others and used the pump it took hours to get going and when it did get going there was so much air stuck in the the thing it had no flow at all, shook the can to try and get the air out but even after 24 hours it still barely dribbles water out, after that I took it apart and checked for any sign of a clog and decided to try it with an empty can, it ran okay but still was just gulping air, when I finally decided to leave it alone with the filter media in it, I came back a few hours later and my 3 loaches were gone, and so I panic opened the can and they were inside it, turns out the intake pipe has no freaking screen or any thing to stop fish from swimming right up it, I now have 3 dead fish due to this and that breaks my heart, I'll be returning this ASAP and getting a name brand one that is designed by some one who has a brain,

I've used it for about 7 months now & it still works well. The UV light does actually help. I don't get any algae growth or tank sickness since it's been on. However, the tubes do get gooky stuff building up, so that'll have to be cleaned almost as regularly as you change the filter media, otherwise when you change the filters & turn it back on it'll loosen most of it and get pumped into your tank. My solution for this is simply hang the outlet tub over a bucket or something for the first moment or two when turning back on. Another small negative is that for some odd reason the little spouts where the water comes out of the stick (idk I can't speak English today lol) tends to get clogged, but a simple pressure clean seems to clear it up. The pressure alone from the power filter doesn't seem to keep it clear of debris. However, keep it all clean and it's an excellent filter I say too much about the little negativites, but everything else is what you'd expect.

For the price on this filter, you can't go wrong. Completely silent operation. Easy to clean. Does a great job.If you find it leaks, wipe the rim of the lid. Chances are there is a piece of trash on it that you didn't see.

The pump good, easy to put together. it looks pretty hidden with my cichlid aquarium set up. The parts are obviously cheaply made, I wish some of the quality of materials was stronger for the price but it looks more than capable of getting the job done. Haven’t been able to use the pump yet due to the UV light being shattered on arrival and a new UV light cost $10 for something of quality, and life. Good pump but I’ll be buying something different next time, due to quality. I’d rather spend the extra $30 on a stronger quality brand, ensuring the safety and quality of my aquarium. The UV light was also broken when it arrived packaging was very sad, a 3 year old could do better. New UV light that is quality, and lively cost $10+ btw (current). I got robbed an additional $10 due to poor packaging, no bubble wrap or anything it just get tossed in, no wonder the UV broke!!!😡

Got this just yesterday, so very early into using it. The instructions were pretty good, and made setup much easier than having to figure it out myself as other people have mentioned there were no instructions. I am not savvy with putting things together, at all, so this did take me about 45 minutes to set up. Anyone with a better ability to build things and have good spatial awareness would likely get this done in 20 minutes or less.Getting the hoses on was quite easy, and I appreciate the screw pieces to make sure they stay put.Unfortunately the hoses are quite stiff and not easy to manipulate, so you do need to work around that a bit when doing setup, especially if your tank is really close to the wall like mine is.I’m using this for a 20 gal I want extra filtration in, and when starting up on full power as suggested, it DEFINITELY is strong. My whole tank was like a whirlpool haha. After water flowed in and out I was easily able to lower the flow to my liking and for my small fish so they’re not knocked around.The amount of space for filer media was fantastic and I’m excited I can use all that space now. The UV light works as well and will hopefully last a bit, but it comes with a replacement and instructions so that’s good.The rain attachment for outflow is great at dissipating the flow of water, and even has a controllable knob so you can have more/less flow! Suction cups for the attachments for inflow and outflow seem to be holding quite well. I wet the suction cups before putting them on, so I think that helps.Overall seems to be great quality, silent (no sounds at all), and my fish seem to like it so I’m a happy camper!
