I had a plastic vacuum fitting break off on an intake for my car, the customer service rep wrote up instructions on putting on a new fitting and had told me to get this tool to get it done. Made it super easy to make a large, flat circle to place the new fitting over and cement in with some epoxy. Now with all that said, I was drilling into plastic, so hardly a tough job for the intended material, but It was really easy to adjust the width of the cut and I didn't have any issue getting the job done.
