This is a cheaply made product. It bent pulling a pilot bearing. The metal the tool is made out of does not appear to have been hardened to the level that tools should be. The nut used to turn down the jaws well machined. It is not worth the money. Spend a few bucks more on any other pilot bearing puller.

Bought this because I read a review from someone that used this on their 03 350Z and was really happy with the results, so I'm chiming in to add that I used this to pull the pilot bushing while replacing the clutch/flywheel on my 03 350z drift car and it worked flawlessly for me as well so don't pass this up!

It actually handles (almost) inside diameter what it claims. I needed 48mm(~2") and it did the job.

I literally had the bearings out 5 minutes after this got dropped off at my house. It worked as it should and saved a lot of frustration for little money.I have 2 minor annoyances. When I opened the bubble mailer the tool fell right out of the box it was in and I caught it before it hit the ground. Needs better packaging. Second thing is while it’s not too complicated to figure out how it works some instructions would make it easier.

Smaller than I expected and wouldn't work on the job I had. I should have paid more attention to the specs. I am sure I will have other jobs for this and will give a more through review when I do. I hope this holds up, it does seem a little light weight.

The puller delivered is not the tool described. It will require a larger center bore than 1/2". My pilot bearing is .620 it is nowhere near fitting. I bought the tool from a recommendation on Youtube to remove a Mustang pilot bearing. You can NOT use this tool to remove a Mustang pilot bearing, it is way too large. If I disregard the wrong size, the tool probably works but it is rough. You get what you pay for. If you appreciate good tools, look elsewhere. If you need to do a few simple jobs at minimal cost, it will probably work.

The product doesn't come with instructions. Youtube videos do not show details how to work it. I'm a smart guy and figured it out after about 30min just before going in the trash. The device in the advertised picture is adjusted in the fully extended position where the adjustment will be when the pilot bearing is pulled out of the crankshaft. The two side legs are too short to use this device as is. To pull the bearing out of the crankshaft you need to extend each side legs on a socket or something so the upper cross bar + legs are an inch or so away from the cross bar that holds the bearing claws. Now, when you turn the knurled nut you will pull the bearing claw toward the leg cross-bar and that will pull the bearing out of the hole. Another thing: I couldn't fit the 3 claws into the center of the pilot bearing because the 3 hooks are too large. I had to file off one of the claw pins and remove a claw to insert the 3 claws separately into the bearing center. I then re-attached the claw with the filed pin. It would be better if the claws were attached with threaded bolts+nuts to insert the claws in the bearing center one at a time. Its pretty simple when you understand how to use it. Hope this helps.

Worked really well for me when replacing clutch on my 2003 Nissan 350Z. Tried the bread method to push out brass pilot bushing but it didn't work. Other bearing pullers a much more expensive. This little tool worked like a charm. Came right out. I could only us two jaws due to the diameter of the bushing I was pulling but it worked nice and smooth. I had to insert a couple flywheel bolts, I had the flywheel already removed, to get more pulling distance after pulling the bushing about half way out. This was not an issue though. I rested the legs of the puller on the bolts. This allowed me to screw the puller in more and then extract the bushing using a larger puling distance.

I tried a couple of other style bearings with no luck. One was a slide hammer style and the other was the U Shape puller style. The slide hammer puller broke one of the paws off and the U shape puller paws had no grip on the ends of them. It would just pull through the bearing without even budging it. This was my 3rd option. It ripped that bearing out like a hot knife going through butter. It was easy to install on the bearing and I had no issues at all. The reason I chose this one is because of the ends of the paws. They weren't rounded off like the other brand I used. If I could give this 100 stars I would. Thanks for saving me hours of grinding with a dremel!!!!!
