Replaced old bulb and lens on a power tool. Direct connection to 120VAC, no DC power supply needed. Pretty handy!

I used this pilot light as an add-on to an indoor light switch for outdoor lights. These lights have occasionally been left on for days without anyone noticing, hence the need for the pilot light.Installation was easy. I used forked terminal ends crimped on both leads then attached them to the switch’s switched terminal and ground terminal. I drilled a ⅜ inch hole in a carefully located spot on the switch plate, so the pilot light body could extend into the switch box without interference from the switch or wiring.It’s a great, inexpensive solution to prevent wasted electricity.

These are great. They are holding up to my abuse, are bright enough to be noticable, they have a unique face for installing stickers on that display what the light stands for, and it comes with a great variety of said stickers. Some indicator lights are a pain to use because they are led and require such a small amount of power to run that you need to install resistors so that ghost voltages won't turn lights on. These do not require that which is a huge relief.

Good to know at a glance that a control box is energized, whether it is a rocker switch or relay on the dust collector. They only came three to a pack, so I had to walk around and find a use for the last one. I drilled a hole in one of the step risers, coming up out of the basement, then wired it to the lights in the shop. That way I no longer have to wonder whether or not the lights are off before I make it all the way up stairs.

This small pilot lamp emits a soft, red glow (or other color). It’s not bright, which could distract, but just enough to indicate power is on. It’s an LED lamp that should provide long life. It’s waterproof on the outside of the case as an o-ring behind the light provides a watertight seal. However, where the wires go into the light base, there is a gap. It could be waterproofed on that side with some waterproof heat shrink tubing on the wires. The wires extend 8” from the end of the threads, so you should have plenty for tying into your power supply and your device.Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it? Yes, this is a very nice, high-quality pilot lamp. However, the locking ring included is the wrong size – it’s too big for the small nut. It would be better to get a different version of 3/8” locking ring that better fits the nut.

I like thats these are 110v and can be use with any light switch. Good for my indicator light application. Somewhat expensive at current $5 per light.
