I am in the automotive field (for well over a decade). I know how to use double sided tape and have tried many different models of 3M's VHB over the years. The only reason I bought this stuff is because its the thinnest of all VHB tapes and I figured it might work well in some applications (like re-taping emblems etc.). Don't bother with this stuff, it's got a paper backing which rips as soon as you try to give the tape a little stretch or curve during application. If you will only be applying this to completely straight/flat surfaces, this may be OK but at this price I would get the black VHB tape instead as it has more flex in it and a vinyl backing that allows you to much more easily work around bends and corners. I am usually a huge 3M fan but this is the first product I've bought from them that I don't see myself using. I gave it a good shot, but it's too frustrating to apply and overall not user friendly.

This tape can replace glue for permanently bonding small wood trim and any other assembly. Yes it is very expensive but it has saved the day for me many times.

This is a tiny amount - in case you are considering it. I should have read it more closely. The outer diameter of this roll is only about 2-1/2". 15 feet of tape that's it. It is not a bargain. This is expensive stuff and I was in a hurry. I expected the amount to be larger - even though it says 5 yards - and I am sure it is. It is tiny!! I blame myself for not reading more carefully.
