I ordered these pins for making some custom clamps in my home machine shop. The pins need to fit precisely in a 6mm reamed hole. I measured a few of these using a good quality, calibrated micrometer and found them to be plenty close to 6mm for my purposes. All the measurements came between -0.0002" and +0.0004" (-0.005mm and +0.01mm). These pins come in a handy plastic box for storage. They have a nice, ground finish. They are reasonably priced and they arrived quickly. Overall this is exactly what I was looking for in a pack of dowel pins.

These came in as described and seem to be good quality.

Solid, sturdy and dimensionally accurate enough for everyday use. Good thing to keep on hand for a maker.

I ordered these as replacements for the IKEA Ivar series shelving but they are too short.

The images led me to believe these pins would have flat-ground ends with beveled edges. In reality they've been cut with a shear and then the ends have been rolled to bend over the edges. This makes for an ugly end with occasional sharp edges. They are stainless steel, and the diameter is 5mm +/- 0.01mm.Overall, there are better products available for comparable prices.

It is basic hardware but I see that good manufacturing is maintained with these. I don't see any reason not to recommend these to anyone. I am going to use them in place of wood towels on a few projects that will be outdoors. I expect these will hold up much better than wood.I am happy with my order and I hope this was helpful. ✔️ Thanks!

Although these are listed as shelving pins, I am using these to help keep things oriented correctly. I make stuff. Some of the stuff needs to go together just right. To make sure that happens, I include positioning pins. I use these pins for larger stuff. I drill the hole to the correct size, press the pins in (with a little bit of thread lock glue) and make sure the receiving side hole is just a few thousands bigger for a snug for workable fit. The finish on these pins make them ideal for this task.
