Well packaged, thick paint (maybe powder coat?) Should work perfect for my application, which is securing a shooting table to make it less wobbly. I have no doubt these should hold up to weather.

Heavy duty material, coating and body. Useful size for many heavy duty applications. Screwing action works flawlessly. Nice robust pair that seems will last forever.

I got these two Titan and Awning cable and these are probably more than I need. Although they do look nice and do their job perfectly.

These things look great and are super heavy duty. I don't think I'll ever get them to 900lbs capacity but they sure do feel like they could handle it if I did.

As others have noted, the threads are pretty sloppy and the hooks wobble quite a bit. While this may not be a real issue, it does make me wonder if they will really hold 900#. These are made from magnetic stainless with a nice black coating. These should be great for truing up a gate or tightening a pulling cable. They do seem a bit expensive though, but then I haven't had to buy long turnbuckles like this in quite a while.

I have been using the 7 strand cable designed for railing on a bunch of other applications, like hanging Halloween decorations. I am using these turnbuckles to tension the cables and they work great. The only issue I have had has nothing to do with the turnbuckles but the carabiners I had on the other end of the cable. These work so easily, you dont realize how much force they are creating. The result was I deformed the carabiners on the other end of the cable by pulling them so hard. No fault of these turnbuckles but it was a surprise at how easily I did that. Really speaks well for these.

The manufacturer claims that this steel hook and turnbuckle has a 900lbs capacity. I do not have the ability to test and verify their claim. However, I am concerned that this design tolerance would not withstand that stress. The hook that threads into the turnbuckle has a significant wobble laterally (side to side) and slight movement back and forth in the turnbuckle. Because of this wobble, that stress is on the hook threads, which are loose. The "working" part of the turnbuckle is 1/4" in length. If that were lengthen to perhaps 1/2" or more, that would give the threads on the hook more "bite" into the turnbuckle, likely making the wobble less significant.I will use this item, but for a lighter duty application.

I use these on a couple of dedicated chains. Hook them up at maximum length, stick a couple of screwdrivers into the chains to keep them from turning, then turn the buckle with a wrench or screwdriver.Turnbuckles can help to draw out a fence before fastening it down to a post. Lots of uses.
