Purchased 2 sets. In both, BOTH, only seven compasses per set worked. This tells us two things. First, this is garbage, and second, they know it and think that a 2/3 failure rate is what they can get away with. I wonder who gets the sets without the rejects!

So I gave this 2 stars simply for the price and the form factor. It looks neat and I’m sure kids will like it(we bought these as party favors for a birthday party) but I feel conflicted even giving them to kids. These are the worst compass I’ve ever seen, even of this type with the small button. They don’t track well at all and can not consistently turn in any direction much less be accurate at all. If a child had an interest in learning to use a compass or orienteering, this would only frustrate and confuse them. These are just a cheap throwaway trinket that may make a good keychain for a kid. I would not recommend them.

They were perfect for the money, just what I expected! The compass part is a little tricky to get it to work right, they seem to be more of a toy vs a real compass. I am however using them for kids gift bags, so they are perfect for what I need them for, and at a great price.
