Product is not made well and piece came apart as I was trying to use it. Design is flawed causing piece to come loose. Would not recommend.

This review is for the 2 piston caliper tool. It is really well constructed with an all aluminum cast body and 1/4" thick steel. Both are powder coated. The ratchet mechanism is like caulking gun but much stronger and can be moved in very small increments. The overall construction is much better than expected and there are no issues when pushing back either 1 or 2 piston calipers as the lever ratio is high and no high hand force is required to operate it. It should fit all but the largest 2 piston calipers but may be too wide for some 1 piston types. Here are some basic dimensions. > Push bar - The bar that actually pushes the pistons back is 5.00" long. Your caliper must be wider than this to get the tool in position. > Closed position - .700" The minimum gap between the extended pistons and the caliper frame. > Extended position - When the pusher bar is fully extended it will push the pistons back to a maximum of 3.380" gap from the caliper frame. These dimensions are perfect for the 2 piston calipers on a Hyundai SantaFe and I suspect most other cars /light trucks. Yes, there are other ways to compress the pistons but this tool makes the job easier and the quality construction makes it a joy to use. Think I will try the 4 piston version for the "Willwoods" on our track car. Certainly recommended for this one.

This is a brake caliper tool. Works like a caulking gun. Have similar one for different jobs. A bit steep for one but it’s the convenience you’re after. Good find.
