This product was recommended by a trainer we are working with. When the product works it is effective in getting my dog's attention. The issue is more than half the time I try to release air, nothing happens. I have to pull the trigger multiple time to get it to work.It really is a low quality product. The cover for the CO2 canister doesn't screw onto the top.

I give 5 because it works for my friend’s dog and it worked for the first three times I used it. However, my dog is especially stubborn and once she figured out normal correction followed the sound and she stopped being startled/distracted by it, she quit caring.

The product produced immediate results! From the first use my dog quit pulling. That was the goal. I have no idea how this was so effective but my pound pup could hear the hiss and my “Hey!” To get her attention, and at first it really scared her. It took awhile for her to even want to go on another walk it scared her so bad. I’m assuming there is a whistle sound besides the hiss that only she can hear. She is so obedient now that I don’t even have to take it w me on walks. I just say “Hey” to get her attention and she slows down and stays w me. I had to use it one other time when I caught her in the act of peeing in the house and she never did it again. When she tries to jump on people I can say “Hey!” And she immediately will sit and look at me like, “Don’t hiss at me I’ll be good. “

This unit is completely useless! The top piece does not attach to the bottom, and just hangs loosely. It could not be used for its intended purpose. The was a total waste of money an Amazon doesn’t permit returns because it is hazardous. Apparently it wasn’t hazardous when they shipped it to me. What I received was an unusable copy of a similar device. Amazon will not even accept a chat message regarding this item. Thi is a total ripoff!

Although this training device was easy to use and VERY effective, it lasted less than 2 weeks with ZERO response from the manufacturer. My device worked well at first. My bulldog responded immediately to the action. I went to change the empty cartridge and it literally exploded off the back of the head! I thought it might be a detective cartridge so attempted to change and it immediately discharged the CO2. Hubby tried a third time and same thing. The nozzle was ICE cold. We truly believe the nozzle pin is defective. I attempted to go back into my orders and return it, but there was no option for this product to return, but did offer " customer support". I did an online chat with Amazon rep who sent me a link to the manufacturer to describe the problem which I did. I was told by Amazon that I should hear directly from the company within 5-7 business days, which I did not. Now I called Amazon customer service and spoke with a live rep who immediately refunded my purchase. I will not buy this product again. After so many bad reviews of the durability and reliability of this product, it is not worth the money. Pet Stores sell small cans of compressed air which works just as well, longer uses, and easy to carry. Don't waste your money!!!

I just moved from the country to the city and my dogs were having a hard time adjusting to leash walking and encountering other dogs. A neighbor recommended a similar device as a painless way to get their attention and break their frantic tugging toward the other dog. It works! When I spray their shoulder with the air it startles them, and they look at me. Then I can praise and get the walk going again. I would call it an "Interruptor". I don't know that it "convinces" them, but it interrupts their fixation for the split second that I need to intervene. My only criticism is that it leaks air slowly so that the canister runs out when it should still have air. I have had a few canisters run out after just 3-4 puffs. Maybe it's the device, maybe it's the canister, but since they go together, the comment must apply to both. Replacement canisters I ordered from another company seem to be holding better. I would definately recommend the devise to start a new behavior.

This is an awesome product for training. The handle breaks easily, while re-loading it causes the cartridge to fully discharge. It looks like they changed the model a little, I hope this one works better.

I was watching Caesar Milan one day explaining that, as a child, his father taught him to train dogs using only two commands. The first was a "kissing" sound which means "come". The second was approximately "CCCHHHTT" which means "stop what you are doing". The Pet Convincer II makes a nearly identical sound to my ear and so after looking at all the collars from $300.00 and WAY up, I chose to try this $25.00 tool and the results were amazing. We have a 14 month old Golden Retriever who jumped up on EVERYONE who came to the house. I used this tool once, on her flank, as directed and she has kept all four feet on the ground ever since. That was four weeks ago and, in addition, when I make the sound with my mouth, as Caesar Milan does, she immediately stops whatever she is doing. There is no more digging, and no more counter surfing. I purchased 12 additional Co2 cartridges which I will never use. Even if you know how to read and handle dogs, this is an amazing, versatile, gentle and kind method to help your dog behave. I am truly convinced that my Golden is a happier dog when she behaves and receives my heartfelt praise and love. Its like your middle school, juvenile delinquent (without malice) child skipped grade 8, just graduated from high school, and is on their way to the college of YOUR choice.
