It was easy to install but broke off shortly after installation. Lousy make! Now I have to spend more money to go to the Jeep dealer for an actual REAL part. Garbage!

We installed it. And the next day it came out. The support anchor I don't think is big enough. So it just slides right out, damaging my light.It's OK if you're on a completely flat surface, but if you're on an angle. Or the wind takes it. It just pulls it right out.

I thought I'd be OK buying this cheaper product. Two weeks later and the cheap plastic inside broke. Now I have to buy another one to replace. Just normal wear and tear it failed in 2 weeks.

I took a chance. I lost. Opened the tailgate after replacing the broken factory part which lasted since 2012.One week since putting in the new part.It failed. Total junk and waste of money!!

if you're breaking this check strap, you need to check your tailgate hinges. check some of the jeep forums about this issue and how some owners have modified this part. there is an updated/more heavy duty hinge available so you won't continue to break this check strap. got this shipped fast, seems ok. i did modify it so it will not pull out again.

Item is easy to install however, if vehicle is on a slight grade, gate will open to wide and cause arm to slip out of bracket and can not be repaired without having to buy a replacement. It is recommended to purchase retaining straps to help with the wide swing
