I needed to replace 12 year old rim tape on my aluminum 29er rims. I was surprised that my LBS only carries tubeless tape now. This tape is nylon, non adhesive and perfect for clinchers. Each piece is precut for the stem hole. Because the tape is very tight in the rim, it’s tough to adjust it after it’s installed. So I recommend using the stem from an old tube to hold that part of the tape in place while stretching it across the rest of the rim.

This is elastic, so no messing around with sticky tape. Once you align the valve’s hole(with a screwdriver or a thin pencil) you are set to install it in 10 seconds and it doesn’t budge. Great tape, solid cover if the spokes’ holes.

Used with new double walled rims with the large holes in the inner wall. Worked perfect. Would also work with single walled rims in place of the standard rubber rim strips.

Thought I read 16mm rim strip was for 404. Found out original was 18mm. May have read it wrong or was advertised wrong. Even packaging shows a 404 and 808. Guess I'Ll have to shell out more cash for 18mm...disappointed, not inexpensive....

Excellent quality item. One helpful hint - cut the valve stem from an old tube and poke it through the wheel while you're fitting the strip into place. That will keep the holes lined up while you make sure the strip is centered all around.

Seems to be made of very durable material. Only time will tell. I expect this to work out just fine.
