I bought a new Weber grill last year and had been thinking about a Blackstone flat top too, I decided to give this a try first. It works so well that I use it almost every time I grill. It has a great sear and it’s heavy duty. Highly recommend.

The product is nice and works well for cooking on gas burners; however the grill side can be somewhat difficult to clean.

It is as advertised. Cast iron. Heavy, which is good for heat distribution. I use it across two burners on a glass top stove. Heat isn’t perfectly distributed, which is expected with anything that doesn’t have multiple layers like tri-ply stainless steel. What i dislike the most is that it is rough enough to shred paper towels with much wiping. I could always sand it down a bit with 80 grit, if needed. For the time being, I use a cloth rag for the final wipe down after using to pick up paper towel lint. Also, I bought a larger steel griddle because I decided I wanted a larger cooking surface, and I now use this cast iron griddle as a heat spreader underneath the steel griddle, which provides a much more even heat than either griddle alone.

First of all, I LOVE to cook on cast iron, but have never had a new piece in my life. Mine used to belong to my Grandma and are probably 80 years old (unless she got them from her grandma :) I read all of the reviews on a couple of griddles to fit on my gas stove. All of the brand reviews had negative remarks about food sticking. I bought this one because it had a deeper grease trap area. The first thing I did was to wash the griddle thoroughly in soap and water. Although it said it was cured, some of the reviews said it was a good idea and it definitely wouldn't hurt. Next I sprayed it with avocado oil (it has a higher smoke point than many oils-but there are other oils that work also), put aluminum foil on the rack below and baked it at 400 for one hour. I let it cool and repeated the process two more times. Last week-end I made pancakes and did not have an issue. Today was the ultimate test....eggs. They were perfect. I am thinking some of the negative reviews are from people that are unfamiliar with cast iron. Cast iron tip...after you wash it put it on the stove and turn the burner on until it is thoroughly dry. If it looks a little dry put some oil on it. Rinse and repeat for the next 80 years or so...then give it to your grandkid.
