CMT, Freud, Whiteside are in my bit collection but since this is the first time making miter edge doors, I went cheap. There wasn’t really a lot of “cheapness” I could say about the Yonicos’ . Not that I used them a lot but I believe that I did get my moneys worth out of them.Sharpness- they are fairly sharp but could use some honing. They cut surprisingly well on this wood but figured ash might go a little slower. Sanding was down to a minimum.Vibration- For the price the balance was very good. Mind you, I’m using a big ol fat Porter Cable with a Rockler router lift in a Sawstop router table top planted in a 400 lb utility table.I may actually find more projects for these to use on and update on longevity. But yeah, I’d definitely say they’re worth it.

Used to route the edge of 2x4s for porch hand rails on an old 1880s Victorian home. Worked great. Rails looked great.

This large bit works well a few times, then gets dull easily. Best to do 3-4 passes, moving the fence closer each time. The shape is excellent for molding, used in framing, but because of its size, you will need to run it slow and steady. I used it several times in a horizontal router table and it just barely fit. Looked great the first few cuts, but after it became dull, it doesn't quite come across with the same finish and clean lines. You can't beat the price, but I've since learned to buy higher end bits that are sharper, stay sharp, and last much longer, even though they cost 2-4 times as much.

I’ve never used such a big router bit before, so it was quite a challenge, but the end product is great.

Awesome router bit, great packaging and arrived early. Don’t get fooled by big name products with even bigger price tags. This router bit performed very well , will it stand up over time , I’m not sure, but the $ I saved from 200ft of mouldings I cut certainly payed for the price of this bit.

This router bit worked very well for me. I made a number of drawer front moldings out of maple and they came out quite nice. I used a router table with a fence and feather boards. The boards being milled need to be kept tightly in place as you run them through the bit to come out correctly. I used the feather boards to both keep them against the fence and down to the table.

Excellent bit. I had to buy a speed controller from harbor freight, as this is a large bit and I needed to reduce the RPM to safely use, but it cut my raised panels very nicely! It did take some practice to get a good smooth cut on a portable table router, but did a great job!!!

Great product. Built to lsat hardened steel shaft carbide blade. Yonico sells a great product as very reasonable prices. I have over 100+ Yonico bits and love them all. I have bought single bits and sets. as far as I am concerned you can't go wrong. Watch your collect size is about all I can say they have both 1/4" and 1/2" bits but some are specifically 1/2" collet.

Bit quality is good and in a fair package. I would get it into a bit box or other safe area quickly, as the carbide is fragile. This bit is very large! You will need to accommodate with a tall sacrificial fence as it is taller than a lot of commercial fences. A taller sacrificial fence will also allow you more stability and a zero clearance face to run boards down. I would recommend building a custom push block to keep it tight on both faces to get good cuts. The push block also needs a follow plate to help with tear out. If using under a 3hp router you will need to make multiple passes. sommerfeld tools YouTube channel has a good design for the push block needed on their mitered cabinet door video.Overall a great bit for the price that will produce good results if you spend the time to prepare your equipment...

This is my first time using a bit of this size (height). COMPLETELY different than a smaller one. If you don't keep your piece of lumber perfectly still and make ULTRA slow passes, it will cause the bit to vibrate, leaving small grooves. I probably adjusted this router bit 1/32 in each pass and it still caused some problems. Very difficult to get right, but it cuts EXTREMELY well!
