This toilet is nice well-made, but the only problem is you don’t want anyone to do a number two in the toilet . It will be a big mess to have to clean and I didn’t want that.

I've used several other styles of portable toilet. My last one was one of the popular 5.8 gallon holding tank capacity ones that seem all made identical. I couldn't number 2 on any of them because of additional anatomy of mine that hangs down and would rest on the bowl. So I'd have to be in a very awkward pose to do my business. Not ideal. This design gives a much more traditional toilet design and it is more like you're sitting on a regular toilet. So much more usable and makes the experience as pleasant as it's going to get when on a portable toilet.Couple Important things, the base does not seem to sit fully flat and has a wobble effect, use shims or other methods to eliminate the wobble and it will feel rock solid. The casette needs to be properly pushed into place or you won't get a seal, so make sure it's properly inserted. Lastly a portable toilet requires the holding tank valve to be open when in use. It's not like a regular house toilet, the bowl is not full of water when you do your business. Having the bowl full of water will increase your chances of unexpected leaks. Don't do it, just have the valve open. So for the most mess free experience, open valve, pump some water to get the walls wet, do business, pump water, wipe any residue off the walls, pump water, and close valve. In total even though I had to shim the bottom to make it not wobble it's a far superior option to competitors. I wish they would sell extra casettes so that I could have another one for greater tank capacity.Got mine with a coupon and really wish I would have just started with this one instead of paying to try out the other portable toilet options.

This portable toilet is excellent except as others have noted, it does leak. I believe that I have narrowed the cause of the leaks. The cassette has to be positioned just right and any movement that takes it out of alignment will result in a leaky toilet. I have installed a cassette retainer which keeps the cassette from being moved out of alignment, the same as cassette toilets in RV’s. There’s a ramp that keeps the cassette from backing out while in movement or use. It’s easy to back this cassette out of alignment with just the opening and closing of the slide. With a retainer, the opening and closing of the slide doesn’t push the cassette out of alignment. This is a simple manufacturing design oversight that can easily be rectified so that the cassette when installed has to be inserted at an angle then sat down behind the retainer. There’s enough room in the back to have a swing latch to lock the cassette in place also. For now, I have installed a retainer that I have to unscrew each time I need to take the cassette out to empty. If it weren’t for this flaw, I’d give this toilet a 5 star rating.Update: The leaks have returned. Because of this, I have reduced my rating for this product. It appears that no matter how I have tried to improve the cassette, it continues to leak all over my floor. I will be replacing this product with Thetford.

As I am an over the road truck driver. I used this toilet for conveniences. Especially if I wasn't near any real restrooms. I liked the concept of the idea on how the waste tank could be removed without detaching the bowl. However, you have to be very careful about how you sit on the toilet. If the waste tank isn't aligned properly. You're certainly to have a mess. Also, the trap door must also be open while using this toilet. If not, then the waste could get in between the bowl and waste tank making it difficult to maintain cleanliness. The toilet does not contain the waste order that well. When time to dump the toilet. The waste leaks out of all the connected components. There is no clean way of dumping your waste. I do not recommend buying this toilet. It is poorly designed.

the hight on this unit is very nice, like setting on a real john, very large bowl, even larger than my real john at home, very comfortable and strong as i am 300#. BUT it has some pretty major design flaws... I am an over the road long haul driver and i keep to myself quite a bit, i don't hang out in truck stops, i get my fuel and get out so this is a real game changer having a john in the truck! the problem with this unit is that in a truck there are bumps and shakes, and so the whole holding tank just slides out of the back willie nilly, nothing holds it in other than it sits flat and wont move it the unit is not being moved, so in turn since the tank just slides out so easily without effort, you HAVE to make sure that it is slide in before using, BUT... heres the kicker, on the top of the holding tank there is a very small lip/ramp that slides the tank into the base so it doesn't leak. okay thats fine and dandy but you have to tip the whole unit forward to make sure that it actually goes into this SMALL ramp, very easily to miss, and then you have a mess, liquid goes everywhere if it is not just right.the fix?, the easy fix would be some sort or retainment system to hold the holding tank in so it doesn't slide out. as for the "small ramp" to line up the seal, it should really have something (like a ramp) in the base to lift the the whole holding tank up to align with the small "seal ramp"in closing, if you plan on setting this up in an area that it wont get moved around, after you make sure the seal ramp is inserted properly, it wouldn't be a bad deal.

It works just fine but the seals don't always seal that well and allow odors to escape while not in use. The seals also leak sometimes when you pull the cartridge out to empty allowing just a tiny bit of liquid escape. I've never had a mess, but I'm dreading the day.

This is a great product. However the valve gets stiff and difficult to use. My husband has used a lubricant on it which helps but we are thinking it is not going to hold up.
