These dog coasters will appeal especially to children, and it is a good way to get children involved in crafting if they know that they are going to be able to create these themselves.Everything is included in the kit, but as a total beginner I am a bit flummoxed as to how to start as I have never done punch needle before. The instructions are rather basic to say the least, so I am watching a lot of videos online before I start which are giving me an idea of how to tackle it. I have started to do the first one, which is taking a bit of getting used to, but I will get the hang of it, and once I have managed to do my first one I am going to get my niece involved as she loves all sorts of crafts. There is method in my madness - crafting gets her away from her computer screen, and that can only be a good thing.So, all in all, a nice kit for beginners, but a little more in the way of instructions would be appreciated!

This has everything you need in one pack. The needles, a plastic embroidery hoop (I was a bit disappointed as I do think it's nicer working with a wooden one so may use my own), yarn and printed cross stitch type fabric.It would be great if a few of you (up to 6 I suppose) had your own hoops and needles and you could do it was part of a knit and natter group.I'll be honest that I'm a bit overwhelmed by the looks of it and I'm not sure how "beginner" it really will be. However having 6 in the pack might be good because I may need some practice!!!

I have never worked with this kind of kit before and am really enjoying it. It seems to me to be a cross between tapestry and carpet making!- it's very enjoyable. The quality of the wool and accessories is good and the designs of the little Dogs is just lovely. I think this would make a nice gift for someone who enjoys knitting, crochet or similar. I enjoy all those types of hobbies and am thoroughly enjoying this set. I do think a younger child would need adult supervision, and would say it is better suited to older children and adults in my opinion.

Good beginner set, comes with all equipment needed but the instructions could have been more detailed for an absolute beginner. A few extra YouTube videos were needed to get me started but good fun once going.
