The product dimensions allow for generous housing of my boating needs (A few tools, a flashlight, my emergency battery operated aerator, the drain plug(s), fishing licenses, wallets, medications, insurance, small binoculars, and a few bungee cords). Orange being a requirement for visibility for any exigent boating mishaps, everything seems perfect about this solution... EXCEPT - that unlatching requires flipping a flip at the end, and as your carrying it by the handle, you will soon find all the contents on the ground (or on the ocean floor...). It has flipped open being dragged across a seatbelt, dropped into a cargo hold, and by chance - hitting the edge of my shorts open pocket while carrying. The only way to ensure it is secured, is to use the lock hole (which -makes it inaccessible if also in an exigent circumstance - such as floating on an ocean - and needing to get into the box for the handheld radio - and not having the key (because it is on the bottom of the ocean). ALL THAT IS NEEDED - is for the manufacturer to make this case in a manner that does not allow for accidental opening... OTHERWISE - a COMPLETE POS. Gave it 2 stars, because it was at least "VISIBLY ORANGE and LARGE ENOUGH FOR MY STUFF".

I love these boxes and have them in both known sizes and all three known colors. I have ammo in a few of them, but also use them for many other things: tool boxes, tackle boxes, etc. I like that the hinge and clasp are strong and the boxes are lightweight. There is a thin rubberish type gasket but I would not call these waterproof. They are weather resistant, and seem to do a great job with dust, which I have more of than rain. Thumbs up on these boxes.

I’m using it for the batteries for a portable fish house. Batteries are Vexilar and fits two perfect. Sturdy box and waterproof.

Fits perfect into a soft bag on back of 4-wheeler. Those bags don't stay dry so I use this to keep goggles and other accessories from getting wet and moldy. Great for that application.

I have other ammo boxes to compare this to, and this one would be on the bottom of my list. I returned the two boxes I purchased. The plastic is thinner and not as rigid as other boxes, the water seal on the lid is of poor quality, and the latching mechanism doesn't hold the cover secure. The latch can be bumped and become unlatched. I was looking for a particular size for collectables I wanted to store in it, this one came closest to what I was looking for, but the overall quality of the box was not acceptable for me.
