We bought this sifter, along with a PL-7K 7" bus box,to use as a litter box for pine pellets. My husband widened the holes slightly with quarter inch drill bit and, voila, we now have the world's best cat box system! Pine pellets are amazing, urine turns them into sawdust, which easily gets sifted to the bottom box with a few swipes of the litter scoop. The solids are easily picked out, just make sure to get one with large slots that will allow the pine pellets to fall through. We use Litter Lifter pellet scoop. No more dusty, heavy, smelly and expensive clay litter for us and our seven cats, hooray!

I'm using this as a litter box for pine pellets and am loving it. It's just tall enough to prevent my girl from kicking out a lot of litter, but she's never been much of a litter kicker to start. Pine pellets have a nice, natural woodsy smell, like a log cabin, and it does a good job of controlling odor; no dust coating your walls either. Just shake popcorn style or stir, and the pellets that have broken up due to getting wet (peed on) will sift out the bottom holes of this pan. I wish the holes in the bottom were a tad bigger, as I have to stir for longer than I'd like to get all the "saw dust" to sift out, and am considering getting a long handle scoop, but over all it has made litter box care easier. About an inch around the entire bottom edge of the box does not have holes, which is great so I can just lay a puppy pee pad in the pan below to catch the saw dust and then pull the corners up n' tie to dispose (more environmentally friendly than trash bags so long as you use the kind w/o the absorbent gel crystals in them). I paired this box with the model PL-7K bus box 7'' by the same brand/manufacturer, as the bottom pan that catches all the broken pellet pieces/saw dust. Both boxes are made of thick, sturdy plastic that has a little give, so they won't easily crack if dropped, unlike your average thin plastic litter box sold in pet stores. I expect these to easily last the life of my cat.

We use this as part of a litter box system for pine litter. Works perfectly for this purpose.

I have a 3 section sink and the left section was where all the dishes ended up before they went in the dishwasher. The problem is that the sink holds more than the dishwashers and I was being caught off guard. I wanted them out of the sink but not on a dishrack. I purchased a silicone rolling dishrack that fit the sink opening and put this dish tub on it. Perfect size, and perfect for what I needed it for. I added a decal.

I have 3 litter box sets and switched to saw dust based horse bedding. Tremendously better than the clay litter clumps. Some baking soda mixed in and drops through the perforations handles odors and every other week I remove the sawdust created by the cat urine and dropped through the perforations. I drilled out every hole at 1/4" and solved the problem of the horse bedding pellets breaking off and sticking in the perforations. (Few did that but just as well to end an annoyance.) If Winco had a 9" deep bus box I would probably replace the PL-7k that goes under the perforated bus box. That would allow more reserve space for the sawdust and less effort to move it to the sides so the perforations are not blocked allowing the sawdust to fall through. Should have done it years ago.
