As other reviewers have noted, this cable doesn't do anything to negotiate the myriad charging standards offered via USB-C, so you have to have a brick that spits out 12V, which is what the Wii requires. I have a pile of usb-c chargers and tried them all...out of 5 different ones from 5 different brands, only an Anker dual usb-c 60w charger worked. I checked the small print on the others and they do not, in fact, support 12V. If you have a compatible charger, this cable is a nice space saver and is cheaper than buying a replacement Wii power cord, which has a giant power brick in the middle of the cord...one of the more annoying Nintendo power designs.

Look at the datasheets on the USB-C charger power supplies and purchase one that has 12V for an output.

Cable works as expected and seems to be fairly durable

This adapter is actually built quite well. The cable itself feels of decent quality, and is roughly the same thickness as the one on the original power supply. The connectors themselves are also about as good as one can hope for a third-party supply, with the Wii end connecting firmly. It's actually a little harder to unplug than the original, but not in a bad way.The cable is relatively dumb, purely asking for a fixed 12V supply from your PD brick and passing straight to the Wii. This isn't an issue, as long as your charger's 12V output is stable. The trouble comes with current. The cable asks for 3A (36W), while the original brick is 3.7A (44.4 or 45W.) Specs on the Wii say it needs 45W peak.Of course, the 3.7A rating probably gives headroom for USB and GameCube peripherals. If you do run into an instance using this cable where the Wii suddenly shuts off or reboots, it's because it tripped your USB-C charger's overcurrent protection. Many do give a little headroom above 3A as well. Not many USB-C supplies can provide more than 3A at 12V, so I can see why they'd do it this way. The proper way, though, would be to request a slightly higher voltage (15V or 20V) and use a buck regulator internally to lower the voltage and increase the current capability. That would certainly add complexity and drive the price up for something that'll likely not cause problems in the real world.Even with that quirk, I don't think this is a bad deal. While potentially violating what PD is negotiating, I also don't expect it to be an issue unless you have a lot of peripherals plugged in. You can even run the console off of a power bank this way!

Kudos for bringing the Wii to the USB C party. I originally tried using this cable with a 65W PD brick but it did not want to get along with the cable - no power. Tried a 20W PD brick and it worked great. This brick is only 1.5" X 1.5" so is much much smaller than the ginormous OEM Nintendo power supply. Now I don't have to figure out where to hide the huge power supply.
