Le Creuset kettle spewed boiling water everywhere and whistle didn’t work, didn’t want Chantal again. Wanted specific features, size, spout sits up high, stay-cool handle, stay-cool lever for spout cover, induction compatible. This kettle satisfies all my needs and works perfectly. The whistle sounds good-not a jarring emergency sound. Water capacity more than fits my Stanley French press. That said, it’s very light-weight so easily dented, I’m sure. I wish it came in colors. Overall, it’s a great purchase.

We make a gallon of tea everyday! This kettle is the right size and whistles the right sound. Not too loud. I recommend this tea kettle!

For those concerned about induction compatibility, the bottom is not completely flat, but the middle ~5.5" diameter is pretty close, as shown in the picture.My LG cooktop recommends 5.8" min. dia. cookware, but works fine with this kettle and the 'cookware heating index' function rates it 10/10 on a 165mm coil.Overall, the kettle seems fine. It is lightweight, as expected, and the handle stays in the vertical position well The only negative so far is that it leaked a little steam at the lid handle, which seems to be fixed for now by just tightening the mounting screw.
