Clock was okay for about 3.5 months except that it is so lightweight every time to touch something, such as your phone, that is plugged into a USB cord the whole phone pulls off your nightstand. At the 3.5 month mark it stopped keeping time. You reset the time, for what seems like the millionth time, and within an hour it stops running or it changes to some random time. Now the USB ports don’t work. So, Westclox, into the trash it goes because I can’t return it nor can I donate your crummy clock. And, by the way, the radio was radio reception was awful.

I bought this clock radio to replace my 30 year old unit that finally gave up the ghost. I read this unit was corded and expected it to have a 110V chord so I was surprised to find it came with a USB plug instead. The sad part about it is the manufacturer didn't supply a wall wart to power the chord so I had to sacrifice my phone charger in order to power the clock. The next issue I discovered is the display, while dimmable, is still way too bright for a dark room. It is not "auto dimmable" so one needs to manually adjust the brightness. The digital FM tuner works fine and finds all the local channels however the volume control is atrocious. At setting 1 you can barely hear anything. At volume setting 2 it'll blow you out of the room. There is not an acceptable volume setting that will wake you up without giving you a heart attack. Lastly, the alarm setting process seems overly complicated. If I spent more money for this unit, I would definitely be returning it however it's not worth my time at this point.

Easy to operate. Be aware, it is FM only.

This is an ok clock. Two things I do not like.#1. The volume settings go from 0 to 16.Setting 1 is very quiet. Nice if you're laying in bed, in a quiet room. Setting 2 is much louder. Too loud in a quiet room. Then setting 3 and above are extremely loud. It sucks that you can't fine tune the volume to your preferences. Not sure who needs volume settings above 4, as it's loud af.#2. When you set the alarm to beep or radio, the beep/radio progressively gets louder. TOO LOUD! You set your alarm at volume 1. Your alarm goes off in the morning and turns on at volume 1. Then it immediately jumps to volume 2, which is loud. Then progressively gets louder. Which is deafening and annoying. It would be nice if this radio had a better fine tuning volume control. Also it would make more sense to have a setting for the alarm to STOP at a specific volume. I don't need my alarm to blast me awake. So anyone reading this, you may want to find a radio with better options.Overall disappointed.

Westclox has really upped their game. Love the USB ports and USB power line. Nice big numbers which can be seen across the room.

In general, I'm happy with it. The red numbers are dim and don’t bother at all for sleeping. The radio is simple to use and does it’s work. The two USB ports are very useful and the radio station memory works well. The only thing I didn’t like it that much is the audio quality. It’s mono aural and sounds a little boxy but for an alarm clock, it does its job. The other thing I noticed is that if a snoozed alarm overlaps with the next one, the first one is dismissed. Aside that, I would recommend it.

I am happy with this clock and it's not hard to use, even if you don't read the directions (which are tiny, by the way). I had to buy a clock that I could actually see across the room. The red light is bright and yes there is no dimmer but I found that it is not as irritating as I thought it might be. I guess probably because it IS red which ruins your "night eyes" less than other colors. I can even sleep facing the clock and it does not disturb me. I like that it has dual alarms - all that means for me is I can keep my work time set and set another time if I need to for something else. There are so many buttons that I put textured tape over my alarm one so I know what to set and what to shut off by feel instead of fumbling or getting all the way out of bed to look at the top of the clock to shut off the alarm. I have accidentally turned off the power strip a few times but have batteries in the backup and the time comes back on after power is restored so as long as the batteries last I will be okay. Setting it is not hard and honestly, if you play around with the buttons a bit, you get the hang of it. There's not a lot to it after that.I did not want one with all the bells and whistles, one that my phone plugged into or anything fancy like that. Just a simple clock that had large numbers (yes, I love that about this clock!) and played a radio station when waking me up. It seems harder to find an affordable one like that anymore. I really hopes this last because while my old one still works, I cannot see it anymore (my eyesight sucks) and the alarm and volume buttons are all wonky now so it was unreliable for that reason.

I bought this to replace a Sony digital alarm clock radio on my bedroom nightstand whose display (blue light) was no longer visible in daylight. I went with the red display because I’d read that it’s less disruptive to sleep when viewed in the middle of the night. This clock’s display is large enough to be seen from anywhere in the bedroom, day or night, and brightness is adjustable. (I actually found the lowest brightness sufficient for my needs.) Radio works fine and the clock has some nice, useful extra features. Very satisfied with the purchase so far!
