As a novice welder, this practice fabrication was a great way to learn welding pipe together for exhaust systems, tubes, etc. Fit-up was just sloppy enough to emulate my fabrication skills but ultimately not much gap to fill when laying down beads. Worth the price

Good practice pieces that didn't need much clean up before welding

I ordered the All About Steel's Practice Fabrication Pieces to help Me Practice Out of Position Welding Techniques before I jumped into Welding up my Real Project - A Kart from the Ground Up. The Welding Practice Fabrication set can be laid out in any position with the Multiple pieces supplied in the set. I mostly Use MIG on this Project with a Touch of TIG Here and There, it is nice to be able to Practice with the All About Steel's sections before tackling the Expensive Chrome Moly - Saving me Time and a Whole Lot of Money. I gave the All About Steel Welding Practice Fabrication Set a Full Five Star Rating Across the Board. Package Contains One Amazing Practice Set of Tubing.

This was a perfect kit to work on my welding. Not too thick that I had to worry about it penetrating with my little Mig135 but not too thin where you worry about blow thru. This is a fun project and gives you lots of angles to practice. Affordable for non-scrap pieces to weld.

I'm a beginner welder so I need all the practice I can get before I take my welding gun to my cars. I have done some flat kits, and scrap metal, but it's hard to do curves if you don't have experience. This kit is great for that! The cuts are accurate and you can quickly place the parts together and see how it's done. There are so many welds that you can see your improve as you go through each one. If you are going to be putting together any kind of exhaust this is a good place to start as those are some challenging welds, and this kit also gives you a good idea of how curved pipes fit together at several different angles. It is a bit pricey for some cuts of pipe, however, I couldn't have done this on my own, so I recommend it.

Nice thick steel tubing made me feel like a hero and didn't properly prepare me for welding on scaly, rusty exhaust pipe. I'm glad I decided to slip fit all the exhaust pipe and not have to chase filling and burning holes. But this was a joy to butt weld and all the pieces were cut well to fit tightly together. It leaves some extremely tight spaces on some of the angles. I didn't have enough plugs to smoke test the finished sculpture, but I didn't need one to know that I sure it would have leaked in those tests. I had to run a lot of stick out on those tight inside corners. Stick would have been interesting

This is a fun little project. Unfortunately my TIG skills are so bad I am embarrassed to post any pictures. The cooping's are good but not great leaving a bit of a gap in a few areas. for a more experienced welder this wouldn't be an issue. I will order again once my skills improve.

I was holding off on writing this review until I had a picture of my completed welding project. Unfortunately, it was a bit of an overly ambitious choice for my first TIG project, and it only vaguely looks like listing's image now. Luckily it still has lots of clean steel that I can cut off from the slaggy mess at the center and practice more. The tubing is nice and thick, and the minimal cutting slag is easy to clean off with a file during fit up. For MIG or stick you can probably just weld it right out of the box without any additional cleanup.
